Stopping And Starting With Angeliq

Hot flush Says:

I am self medicating with Angeliq because I live in South East Asia where medical treatment isn't the best. I found it absolutely helped with the horrific fright flight feelings I had prior to a hot flush descending upon me which was just terrible. Having stopped taking it after around 2 years, I am having mild flushes now and then but the terrible thing is I just don't sleep. I am thinking to go back on it but worry as I am 60 and not able to get mamograms and care how it might go. Any ideas or advise please.

Wow! I am so sorry about what you're going through, being in perimenopause myself, I understand how awful hormonal issues can get.

However, having high blood pressure, I cannot take hormonal medications and the best thing I've found that's helped so far is Prozac, or it's generic Fluoxetine. It is an SSRI antidepressant, so it helps with the anxiety, fright flight, hot flashes, irritability and etc. for many women.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth.

I'm not a doctor, so I can't tell you what would be right, or safe for you to take, but it is something you could research and ask your doctor about trying, when you see them.

Is there anything else I can help with?
