Stopping Istamet 50/500
UpdatedI am diabetic. I am taking Istamet (Sitagliptin 50 mg + Metformin 500 mg) before lunch over the last month and Trivolib, 1 in morning and night ( over the last year). After taking Istamet 50/500, I lost 4 kilos weight. My sugar count is 124 Fasting 143 PP. Can I stop Istamet? When I asked the Dr. he said if I stop then I have to shift to Insulin. I am confused and wonder whether to stop Istamet and do walking and dieting. Pl suggest.
