I'm taking chantix for 3 weeks now can I take xenadrine Ultra ## Have you checked with your doctor? The Xenadrine products are over the counter dietary supplements that are claimed to aid in weight loss, however, as such, they aren't tested for possible interactions with actual prescription drugs. Thus, I can really only advise that you check with your doctor or pharmacist, before taking it.

I took Chantix for 12 days. On day 9 I was tempted to quit, as the nausea was awful. Finally (accidentally) found that taking the pill with juice instead of water gave me almost no nausea, so kept going a couple days. The reason I quit taking Chantix is because my ovaries started feeling like they were getting ripped out when I was on my period and again when I ovulated. This scared me as to what it was DOING to my ovaries, as we intended to get pregnant after I quit smoking. I'm 35 and have a history of spontaneous miscarriages. Have any of you other gals had this issue? Or is it just me? ## I have had the exact same issue. Hi there. I am currently on an antidepressant called Cymgen. I am a smoker and am wanting to quit. There is a new drug out called Champix (Varenicline) and it is a 12 week program to help smokers quit. I would just like to know if it is safe to take this drug while using a seritonin/adrenaline uptake. Tami ## I haven't found any interactions listed, but you should check with your doctor, or pharmacist to be certain. There are some cases where they don't like to prescribe both together, depending on other health issues and other medications you may be on. So, your doctor may prefer that you stop one, or they may want to adjust your dosage. Are there any other questions or comments?

Just started on Chantix three days ago....no negative side effects so far. I am a registered nurse and am aware of the positive and negative effects of this drug. That said, this is my last hope as I have never been able to quit before. Family and friends are watching me closely for behavioral abnormalities. My quit date is set for 4 days from now! Really having high hopes for this pill....lol. It has helped many doctors and nurses that work with me. Just be aware of your body, and have a line of communication open with your family and doctor to express your thoughts and feelings. Having some trouble staying quit, but am dealing with it! So far , the only symptoms I've had from Chantix are the dreams, and being unfocused, but not so bad. ## There are a lot of individuals who report some horrible side effects from Chantix, but it sounds like your doing great! Have you experienced any bad side effects from this drug? My dad has been smoking for over 40 years, but he decided to cold turkey it just this year and stick it out. He had about a week or so of cold-like symptoms and sleeping it off, but now it has been 7 weeks and he hasn't craved or touched a cig since! Probably the worst "quitter" out there. Quit for 2 years successfully on Chantix, don't remember any bad mental effects just nasty stomach issues. Tried it again this spring and was good for a couple months, but backslid. Just started upping the dosage and am having major mood swings, anxiety, not really sucidal thoughts, but thinking "it just be easier to be dead" fairly regularly, crying for no reason, feeling uncomfortable around everyone, pretty constant headaches, exhausted, just in general not myself at all. Considering just stopping the Chantix all together, I hate feeling like this. It is ok to start taking this at night instead of the day/morning? In other words just take the day 1-3 at night 1st then add morning 4-7? I smoke more at night anyhow- I'm concerned about being drowsy right off the bat. Also my doctor prescribed ambien...is it safe the take these together? Ambien's lit says you have a higher risk of doing activities like sleep-walking(etc) if you take other medications that make you sleepy...? Any help or advice would be great. I have been Smoking for years and I am at about 1 and a half packs a day. I have 3 young children and even though they do not live with me and I do not ever smoke in front of them, they still know I smoke, what kind of role model does that make me? I want to be around a long time and see me kids grow up so that is why, after many attempts to quit on my own, I have decided to try Chantix. So this is Day 1 and I am hoping for the best. Does anyone know this? Wiki has nothing. ## No, I'm sorry, but this site doesn't have any information on it, either. Sometimes a name brand drug name makes sense and sometimes they don't, I'm not sure exactly how they are decided on. I know there are certain rules, per se, about the chemical names, which are the active medication ingredients, they are based upon the chemicals and effects involved, but that's all I know. Have you tried asking the manufacturer?

Has anyone experienced suicidal ideation and assault while taking Chantix/Champix ## It is known to cause these problems with some people that take it, thought it is very rare. It is an antidepressant, the active ingredient is Varenicline and most of them are known to cause the opposite of their intended effects in a very small number of people that use them. In the U.S. it carries a black box warning about it on the medication sheet. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a family member that has been abusing drugs and I found like 30 of these. thank you ## This tablet contains 150mgs of Buproprion, the active ingredient in Zyban, or Wellbutrin, it is an antidepressant that is also used as a smoking cessation aid. Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well with the Chantix and are able to quit smoking! I'm a week and a half in and so far, no terrible side effects. The main thing I'm dealing with is extreme fatigue. Is anyone else having this problem? I went to the doctor today because I'm having other issues aside from the fatigue i.e. sores on my legs (I know...gross) had a blood clot last year, and just diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. I am a walking nightmare health wise lol! Anyway, they did some test to determine if the fatigue is from something else. Like I've said, I've been taking Chantix for a week and a half now and I haven't had any crazy mood swings or nightmares. I'm going to start Zyban to quit smoking, and for some mild depression. Never taken a drug like that before and I'm curious to hear If something like that will make me feel happier? Has anyone had a better mood, thoughts or etc. with It? ## The active ingredient in Zyban is the antidepressant Buproprion, so it may help with such issues, as well as with smoking cessation. i just started chantix can I take unisom ## Chantix contains the active ingredient Varenicline and Unisom contains the active ingredient Diphenhydramine and I am not finding any interactions listed between the two, but you should check with your doctor, or pharmacist to be certain. It may, however, aggravate some of the side effects, such as dry mouth and drowsiness. Learn more: Is there anything else I can help with?

I have heard good and bad about this medication. I am on my 13d ay of Chantix and other then some weird dreams I'm doing pretty good. I haven't smoke for 4 days now. I did smoke after my first week but it tasted horrible and gave me a upset stomach. If you do smoke after the 7th day you may regret it! I don't take Chantix with any other meds so the side effects have been OK. Not wanting to kill myself or anyone else but it feels good not smoking and being able to breather after 20 years! ## Congratulations! I am very glad to hear that it is working so well for you. After taking Chantix for 10 days, and then stopping, how long will it stay in my system? ## Their official webpage doesn't even give information regarding this: Judging from the amount of doses one has to take, it doesn't seem like it stays in your system very long at all. However, your doctor should be able to give you some clue as to how long it will stay in your system, based on your current health and dietary habits, etc.

Husband has a problem with his legs after he stop smoking. The doctor that he consulted diagnosed him with severe Achilles Tendinitis infection. Prescribed Pulmison 20mg for 1 a day. After consulting a medical dictionary to see what is the cause of this illness. I am quite worried, am I just stupid or do I have to worry about it

I have been using the Nicatrol Inhaler to quit smoking. I lost the inhaler. I can only manage to take this god-awful pill once a day. Every time I do I've become VERY nauseated, and a few times, I've puked. A couple nights ago I took it right before I went to sleep, since I can sleep through anything. The dreams were ridiculous, but I didn't wake up feeling like I had to throw up. Need to know the name of the pill thats white and oblong with the letter L and #s 424 on it ## I cannot find a listing for this tablet, however, I can tell you that these pills marked with an L followed by additional numbers are over the counter items. They are often sold by various stores as their store brands or generics. Does anyone else know what this is? Did you find it in the U.S.? ## L424 white round pill is Nicotine Lozenge. Was checking on son and asked. Sure enough pulled my bottle of wallgreen Nicotine Lozenge out and it was a match!
