Stomach Ulcer

What medication can i use for sever pain from a STOMACH ULCER can only get a appointment to see a specialist in 5weeks time my GENERAL PRACTITIONER has prescribed me TRAMACET it contains 37.5mg Tramadol HCI and 325mg Paracetamol and i must take 2 TRAMACET'S 3 times a day is that to much or is there other pain medication i can use the pain is unbelivably painful. I am 43year old male and i am from SOUTH AFRICA i have lost 31.7kg in the past 28 days due to this problem please can someone give possible solutions.

Are you taking anything for the ulcer?

The Acetaminophen in that is liable to just irritate further and can make it worse.

When I had a similar problem, they had me take Oxycodone, since it usually doesn't make the ulcers or irritation worse, along with the proton pump inhibitor Omeprazole to help my stomach heal.

Thanks Verwon my doctor has me on a drug called ALTOSEC(omeprazole) to ease some of the pain you see what my problem is that i was a narcotic abuser but have been clean for 8years plus i am on strong meds for bipolar ,deppresion and AADD so i doubt my doctor will give me anything stronger than TRAMECET the specialist i am going to see i one of South Africas best that mainly works with stomack ulcers.

My girl has a stomach ulcer,and her doctor says she should be operated for that ulcer to be gone for good.my question is isn't there another way to cure ulcer other than operation?

My mother age is 69. After her endoscopy she's been challenged with a stage 1 ulcer. The doctor gave her Sompraz-L tablets to take morning/night before meals. After taking that tablet her stomach pain has slightly reduced but her bowel movements are not regular, so she's also been taking castor oil for motion everyday. Please advise me on what to do next?
