Can Pain pills give a false positive result in a blood test? My brother was admitted to hospital where he tested positive for cocaine as well as pain pills. He says he has not been involved with cocaine. He does have hepatitis C and we have been told if you have a bad liver you will test positive for cocaine. ## Apparently certain liver diseases can provoke a positive result for cocaine. I'm not sure why this is, but other individuals have complained about this occurrence too, so it seems fairly common. I am also aware that on the cheaper, less reliable drug tests, it seems anything is possible. Can heavy caffeine use cause a false positive for cocaine in urine drug screens or saliva swabs? I have a patient who uses an unreal amount of caffeine in the form of coffee daily, plus he used many "energy shots" daily which have caffeine, niacin, Vit B6, Vit B12, Folic Acid, Taurine, Malic Acid, glucoronolactone, N-acetyl-L-taurine, and L phenylalanine ## No, from the research I've found, caffeine hasn't been known to cause false positives for anything else. small light yellow pill, with a raised V on one side only. What is it? Found it in my mother in laws pill box, and she doesn't know what it is. Not sure if she should be taking it or not. Thanks! ## It's never a good idea to take anything you can't identify. This imprint is kind of vague, which makes me suspect that it is probably and over the counter product. In this case, I've seen a similar imprint on Vivarin and its generics/store brands. It contains caffeine and is used as an alertness aid. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Hi, I know I'm not allergic to paracetomol but rashes started to appear when I took pacofen, which i believe contains other ingredients. It's also iches. Is that possible I'm allergic to the combinations that are present in pacofen? ## Yes, the active ingredients in Pacofen are Caffeine, Codeine and Paracetamol, so you might be allergic to one of the others, though the Codeine is the most likely culprit. It's also possible that you are allergic to one of the inactive ingredients. Have you consulted your doctor?

They are white oval pill it sais L347 on one side nothing on the other what is it? ## I can't find a listing for this in of our resources, however, I can tell you that the tablets marked with an L, followed by 3 additional numbers are typically over the counter products. Where was it found/obtained? ## L347 is a generic migraine med. Full of caffeine.

will lidaderm patches give me a false positive for cocaine on a drugtest ## From what I am finding, they are not known to do so. Though the Lidocaine is distantly related to Cocaine, using it patch form usually means you don't absorb enough of it for it to cause a false positive. Is there anything else I can help with?

What does NO Doze look llike? What are the effects on the body? ## NoDoz are simply stimulant pills that are used as an alertness aid, they each contain 200mgs of Caffeine. There are both name brands and generics on the market and since they are over the counter products, I don't have descriptions of them all to provide for you. it is a tablet that is round it has the number 44 on top of the number 226 the back side is plain it is kinda of a peachy orange color ## Hi michael, The closest match I was able to locate in the drug databases is regarded as being the color yellow and not peach-orange colored; but otherwise fits the rest of your description. The pill I located is identified to be a 200mg Caffeine tablet, (also called a "Stay awake tab"). This particular pill is manufactured by Major Pharmaceuticals Inc. I wish I could be of more help, but if this pill does not sound like a possible match, one thing you can do is take the pill over to your local pharmacy and see if they have any particular way of testing for ingredients. If not, they may be able to provide advice on how you can get it lab tested...

Can you purchase Isometheptene mucate and Dichloralantyine separately? ## Hi Marlene, Based on my research, they both appear to be only available in combination with each other or with the addition of caffeine or acetaminophen. Dichloralphenazone + Isometheptene work synergistically (and possibly not well on their own), which may the reason why they aren't available on their own. Do you have either one of these by themselves and are just looking to get the other half to make it complete? I would consider contacting your local pharmacy to see if they have any preparations of one of these that can be purchased with or without a prescription. I hope this helps!

I thought there was a drug that doctors gave patients along time ago and it was Laudin. Not sure of the spelling but the doctors gave it for everything. Didn't it turn out to be opium or cocaine or something like that? Came up in a discussion and the other person said they had never heard of it. ## I believe you're referring to Laudanum, it was a tincture of Opium. Yes, it was freely given many years ago to treat almost anything, which created many addicts. I found these in my sons cabinet juat wondering what my boy is taking please tell me what he would be uaing this for ## GPI is the logo for Gemini Pharmaceuticals, they manufacture a very large number of over the counter products. Since they are OTC items, they are not listed in our prescription drug databases, so I can't be 100% certain of its identification. However, from some sales listings I have found, it is said to contain Caffeine, as a stimulant to help with alertness. Does anyone else know for sure what this contains?

heartburn and h pylori ## What kind of symptoms have you been getting lately? I recently had blood work done because my doctor thinks I might have it as well.
