Laudin

I thought there was a drug that doctors gave patients along time ago and it was Laudin. Not sure of the spelling but the doctors gave it for everything. Didn't it turn out to be opium or cocaine or something like that?
Came up in a discussion and the other person said they had never heard of it.

I believe you're referring to Laudanum, it was a tincture of Opium.

Yes, it was freely given many years ago to treat almost anything, which created many addicts.

It is still actually available, today, by prescription, but in a more purified form and is only prescribed under certain strict medical criteria.
