Starting Pristiq

I've been pretty anxious my whole life. Used Paxil at 15 after a bad experience with drug my anxiety was insane. I then stopped using Paxil after a month and managed to.live with my anxiety. I then had to use cipralex twice because my anxiety went crazy. But always stopped after 3 months. But for 3 years I have been using temazepam 30mg everyday. This pill helped me sleep at night however I didn't know I would end up being so addictive. I feel so happy at night when I take it. Now my anxiety is back and I went to see the doctor because I couldn't stand it... I go shopping and have major anxiety panic attack and feel like I will faint. So I went to see my doctor because first I wanted to stop temazepam and second to help with anxiety.. the thing is that since I started using temazepam I have muscle.pain and I feel dizzy during the day however when I take temazepam at night I feel great. So my new doctor said that he doesn't want me to stop temazepam now because I am anxious. So he gave me two option either I go through my anxiety with help.or alone or I could try to use another pill called pristiq 50 mg a day... It's my third day and don't feel much of a difference except that I don't really care about anything... don't feel like doing anything. I read that the withdrawal symptoms are crazy so I'm wondering if I can just stop using it now before it's too late an try to control my anxiety... also I will have withdrawal symptoms when I'll try to stop using temazepam so I don't want to be stuck 2 pills forever. .. any advice anyone?

It can take 4 to 5 weeks for Pristiq to reach its full level of efficacy in your body, to see how well it will, or will not work for you.

The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and weight changes.

The withdrawal effects from the Temazepam can be minimized by stopping it via a slow taper. Abruptly stopping it, cold turkey, according to the NIH, can create the risk of seizures.
