Started On Hydralazine (Top voted first)

In three days I noticed my breathing improved - not sure why that is. I pee a lot too. A little woozy - trying to get used to the medication and adjust to the drop in blood pressure; it's been high for awhile.

The increased urination is a normal side effect of this medication, as well as most other high blood pressure/cardiac medications, according to the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and hypotension.

As to the improvement in breathing, where you suffering congestive heart failure?

I am on hydralazine 100 mg twice a day and having all kind of side effects. Is there anybody else on this medication?

Thanks for writing. No I wasn't suffering from congestive heart failure according to the cardiac doctor and the results back from the Eco Cardiogram... all showed that my heart was strong. Maybe I had some fluid in my lungs from reflux disease and the pill helped clear out some extra fluid? Is that possible? I read hydralazine actually made you more fluid filled. Anyway --- I have been losing some weight on this medicine too due to a slight loss in appetite so I guess I really cant complain about this med. It took my doc 7 tries to find me one that wouldn't make me really sick. I can live my life normally on this one.
