Hi this is my first pack of sprintec I take my pills at 11:00 everyday and never missed one and I'm on my 3rd white pill but still haven't started my period I also had unprotected intercourse on the 7th day of starting this birth control .. I don't know if I should take a test or just wait it out ??? Help ? Please ? ## Hello, Buttercup09! How are you? Did you start the tablets the first day of your period or at another point in your cycle? If you started on the first day of your period, then you were immediately protected, but if you started them at any other point in your cycle it would take a full 7 days for them to become effective to prevent ovulation, so it wouldn't be safe to have unprotected intercourse until the 8th day, or later.

I just got a prescription for Tri Sprintec. Last Thursday was my last day of my cycle. Which pill do I start taking now since I already had my cycle? ## Hello, Megan! How are you? You can actually start it at any time, unless your doctor gives some reason why you cannot, but if you start it when you are not on your period, you'll need to use a back up method of protection for the first full 7 days, because it will take that long to become effective and prevent pregnancy. Hi. Im a any day starter, instead of taking the white pill on first day I took dark blue and then began the white pills. 6days later, I was supposed to take the 6th white pill and realized I messed up.... iv had intercourse with no protection 2 times, what do I do as far as my pills and is there a chance of pregnancy? ## Hello, Brittany! How are you? No, you were supposed to take the blues ones, not start with the white. The white pills are inactive and are meant to be taken at the end of the month to allow your next period to occur. For protection against pregnancy to start, you needed to start with the blue pills that contain active hormones, that's why there are 21 of them in the pack and only a week of the white ones. I started sprintec about 20 hours after I got my period (the next morning) and I've taken every pill on time. The pamphlet with the medication says that it's effective automatically if you start on the first day of your period and 7 days after should be fine. However I'm kinda paranoid about these things and I read that some people wait the whole first pack. Is that necessary? I don't think it is because the pamphlet says 7 days is enough but all the other reviews by others is confusing. ## Hello, Erin! How are you? I have currently been taking sprintec for about 4 months now, and within the last 2 months I have had no libido at all. It has caused huge issues between my boyfriend, and I have mood swings all the time. Does anyone else have this problem? What did you do to help fix it? I have been on a bunch of different kinds of pills for birth control (I loved them), and I also was on the DEPO shot (I loved it but i gained over 50 lbs.). ## It really sounds like the estrogen in them doesn't agree with your body, you may naturally have a higher amount, so adding that in the pills is just pushing it too far. Have you considered trying the Mirena IUD? It only uses a form of Progesterone, rather than estrogens.

I was put on progesterone to start my period because I missed one, originally thinking I might be pregnant. After taking the pills I was supposed to start sprintec Sunday (today) but I never got my period. Is it okay to start taking or should I wait for my period? ## Hello, Katie! How are you? I'm in my first month of taking Sprintec 28 and probably since week two I started experiencing stomach pain sometimes and I wake up feeling like I have to throw up it go on for like a hour or so until I eat then goes away sometimes and occasionally its later in the day too i feel like that. I know these are some of the side affects but will the pain and nausea feeling go away once my body is use to the pills or should I try another brand? Hi my doctor prescribed sprintec for my heavy period . The label says the first Sunday but it is Monday and I have started my period . Is it ok for me to take the pill today ? They just usually say Sunday to try to keep women on track and make it easier for them to remember to take it every day. Is there anything else I can help with?

I missed Wednesday pill last week and missed Saturday and Sunday so I took Sat and Wednesday pill today. Then Tuesday I'm gonna take Sundays and Mondays then Wednesday take Tuesdays and Wednesday pill so its back on the right day.. I've been taking Sprintec for about a year now and everything has been fine but this month I got my period during the third week while still on the blue pills. Hello, I started taking sprintec 3 weeks ago and have been spotting every day since. One of those weeks was like a period. When will it stop?!?! I *always* take my pill on time. Well, around 11:58-12:02. I try my best to take it at 12:00. My boyfriend doesn't come when we do it but my doctor told me I could still get pregnant. I have an overgrowth of bacteria that is common in pregnant women, but when I went to the doctor, they took a test and said I wasn't pregnant. I never miss pills ever I take them religiously and I have a alarm to warn me to take them so never missed a pill , but I always always start on the Friday of my white pills arounnd1 pm AMD it's now 6 and I still haven't syarted. My teen daughter is on Yaz for hormonal acne. This is her 6th month & her face is the worse it has ever been! She is getting cyst on forehead & along sides of face. I need to skip a period next month to go on vacation.....can this work? ## Absolutely! I take them continuously and skip the white ones completely. No periods. It's great! My MD says there's no reason we need to have a period at all, so have at it! ## This is correct, it will not harm you at all, though it is recommended that you let your body complete a normal period cycle at least occasionally. So I missed a whole week of my birth control due to refill problems. I then began to take them a week late and decided to take my white pills or sugar pills a week early to not mess up my period. but I did not get my period and I am sexually active. Any suggestions???? help!

I missed monday and tuesday on week 2 of my sprintec, I have missed before and continued with no complications but I started bleeding heavily today I think due to missing the two pills. So I have been on sprintic for a year I stoped taking them to have another baby after I had him I started taking it again well its been a full year 6 hours after I take the last blue pill when I was in the bathroom a white clump of stringy stuff come out and I noticed some light bleeding what could this be? ## It is very hard to fathom a guess from just the limited information in your post. However, both breakthrough bleeding and discharge can be normal when you're taking hormonal contraceptives and when you aren't taking them. Have you consulted your doctor? That would be the best thing to do, so they can help you determine if there is a problem.
