Sleepy All The Time

I would be so grateful if someone could help me figure out why I'm sleepy all the time! I am taking opana 10mg 2x daily, with vicodan for breakthrough pain. I am 65 yrs old, female and also taking many other pills including paxil, lasix, simvastatin, insulin (type II diabetic) lisinopril, glipizide and potassium. I have been on several different pain meds such as fentanyl 50mcg/hr (it eventually made me feel like i was going crazy) buprenorphine, oxycodone which worked very well but I was dipping into that bottle a bit too often. Thanks for any help you can give.

Feeling sleepy is a very common thing with virtually all narcotic opiates, such as the Opana and Vicodin that you're taking.

Drowsiness can be a side effect of most medications, so since you're on quite a few, it's likely compounding the problem and I doubt there's much you can do to change it.

Have you talked to your doctor about the issue?

Sometimes something as simple as multivitamin that can give you a little energy boost can be enough to help, but you need to make sure that it's safe for you to take one.
