Side Effects Of Cyclopam

I am a teenager and I am suffering from severe pain during the periods. The doctor I consulted did not ask any details nor did tell the reason why I have got the pain, she prescribed me half a tablet cyclopam to be consumed when I get the menstrual cramps. I was relieved when I came to know that there is a solution to my problem and was about to start the medication when I discovered that there are serious side effects in taking this drug. I read that this medicine may have side effects like headaches, flushing, nervousness, weakness, dizziness, confusion, insomnia, fevers, pupil dilation, blurred vision, nasal congestion, decreased or difficult urination, sweating and impotence! I am very nervous in having this medicine now, will I face any of these side effects in future? Furthermore, I am going to stay in a hostel, so I have no chance of getting natural remedies. I will be very happy if I get an immediate reply to this question! Thank you.

I'm actually not sure why Cyclopam was prescribed. To be honest, the only ingredient in it that would help with menstrual cramping would be the Acetaminophen.

The others aren't going to do anything for it and if it's really severe, the Acetaminophen isn't likely to touch it, either.

What type of doctor did you see for it?

It was a gynaecologist. She mentioned that even she and her daughter were having the same medicine for menstrual cramping.

Actually i have started to take cyclopam coz of periods pain bt nw it is my habit that i must have it coz i am addicted of it. M taking it too much so pls solve my problem.
Is there any dangerous problem in body? Is there any damage in body?

I was given the drug for stomach upset, but my condition became worse. I feel to vomit soon after consuming the tablet.

Hi Annie! I was like u as a teenager and into my adult hood. I had TERRIBLE pain when I got my period. I also had very heavy bleeding for 7-9 days, every month. I went 2 the Doctors and even the emergency room once. NO ONE would take me seriously. Well, let me just say, I wasn't giving up. I use 2 miss school every month, due 2 the pain . At 19 years old, this 1 doctor took me serious. He did a minor surgical procedure called a Laporoscopy on me. Well , they found out that I had Endometriosis. Which is why I was going through everything. After that, they took me serious. They put me on different kinds of birth control pills, which none helped. The only thing that helped me was prescription pain meds. So, as far as your question, there r side effects with all medications. U won't know if it helps, unless u try it. In the meantime, why don't u do some research on Endometriosis, on the web. I hope u feel better soon!
