Side Effects Of Citalopram Stomach Ache And Bloating

I've been taking Citalopram 20 mg for two weeks now, for anxiety. It took around 7 days to kick in, but I suffered anxiety symptoms in second week and had a very mild stomach ache and bloated feeling. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Citalopram, the active ingredient in Celexa, is an antidepressant.

It can take several weeks to reach its full effect and help relieve your anxiety, if it does not work in the next 1 to 2 weeks, please make sure to contact your doctor.

And yes, the things you are experiencing can be normal side effects of this medication, you may also experience symptoms that include dizziness and headache.

These should all taper off as your body adjusts to the medication.
