I am 19 years old. I am PCOD patient and doctor has prescribed me tablet krimson 35. I am taking Krimson 35 from one month. But during 7 days I have no period. My Urine report is positive. Now I am getting Pregnant. Is it any side effect for me or not. Is my child is ok or Not. Please help me.

I was prescribed krimson 35 to treat excessive hair growth for 3 months.i took crimson 35 for 2 months and then discontinued for a month.Again i started after a month and took the pills for 3 months.Was it a wrong move?is it over dose.We are trying to have a baby.Please advise

Hi Doctor, my fiance who is 21 years of age has been advised to take Krimson 35 as a contraceptive pill. We are getting married in 2 days and we wanted to use a contraceptive, hence this was advised. She is a virgin and has never used any contraceptive pills before. What are the major side effects of this pill? Is it safe to use?

hi i m 23 years old . i have pcod .i m takin krimson from past 1year
but still i ll face irregularity in periods
i consulted the doctor who adviced me to take krimson
for 3 months again

my wife is taking crimson35 from first week of nov 2011,now today(21nov) during sex i could't use precaution,both not want baby now.her privious period was 5 nov.is crimson 35 protect pregnency?plz help me..thanks

Have you discussed the concerns with your doctor?

Oral contraceptives should not be given when someone already is or may be pregnant, but they are not known to cause harm, if someone becomes pregnant and is taking them during the early stages of pregnancy.

CYPROTERONE ACETATE AND ETHINYLOESTRDIOL TABLETS:

COMPOSITION:
Each film coated tablet contains:
cyproterone acetate BP 2mg
ethinyloestradiol IP 0.035mg

CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY:
it combines with cyproterone acetate ,a potent antiandrogen and ethinyl oestradiol,a semisynthetic derivetive of oestradiol.

MECHANISM OF ACTION;
The function of sebaceous glands is mostly dependent on androgens.Androgens stimulate the mitotic activity in the sebaceous glands ,fibroblasts and hair follicles.seborrhea,the increased production of sebum ,plays an important role in the genesis of acne.
cytoproterone acetate contained in krimson-35 blocks androgen receptors.it also reduces androgen synthesis both by negative feedback effect on the hypothalamo pituitary ovarian system and by the inhibition of androgen synthesizing enzymes.
The stimulating effect of male sex hormones on androgen dependant structures and functions is weakened or abolished by cytoproterone acetate.
It inhibits the influence of androgens and reduces the activity of sebaceous gland.apart from this, it also has a progestational action.
Ethinyloestrdiol in the combination inhibits ovulation and changes the cervical mucus and the endomerium rendering them unfavourable for sperm penetration and nidation of a fertilized ovum respectively........
Although it acts as a oral contraceptive,it is not recommended in women solely for contraception.

CONTRAINDICATIONS;
.pregnancy or lactation
.sickle cell anaemia
.venous and arterial thrombotic or embotic process
.herpes gestations
.severe diabetes mellitus
.liver disturbances,jaundice etc

SIDE EFFECTS:
.HEADACHE,NAUSEA,GASTRIC UPSETS, VOMITING, BREAST TENDERNESS, DEPRESSIVE MOODS, CHANGES IN LIBIBO, CHLOASMA (EXCERBATED ON EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT)

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
It is available in blister strips of 21 tablets.each tablet marked with the day of the week
One tab daily for 21 days.therapy should start on day 1 of the cycle91st day of menstural cycle is taken as 1)it can be taken at any time ,but the timing should be followed that is continued.taken until the strip is completed .
