My mom is taking this drug but has some anxiety issues and glaucoma. The doctor prescribed this drug to take with meal four times a day she can hold her food down but causes face spasms and vision problems an hour and half later.

Yes, those can be normal side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA. She may also experience nausea, edema, drowsiness and fatigue.
If they are very problematic for her, she may want to speak to her doctor about trying a different medication.
