Hello, Winkey! How are you? Did you stop it abruptly, or did you taper off of it?
If you stopped it abruptly, the breathing issue may be due to some withdrawal effects. While this medication isn't habit forming, your body does get used to anything you take regularly for a long period of time, according to the NIH, so some withdrawal or rebound effects may occur.
Are you on any other medications?
And yes, it has been known to cause elevated uric acid levels, which can lead to gout.
