An oval light blue perhaps grey pill will c on one side and s 2 on the other. What is this and why is it taken? ## Hi Rob, Unfortunately, the closest match I've been able to find is a light blue, round pill, with the imprint M over S2 (which is divided by a score). This pill contains (50 mg) of Sertraline; which is used for a number of conditions including: major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), panic disorder and social phobia (social anxiety disorder). It has also been used for premature ejaculation and vascular headaches but evidence of the effectiveness in treating those conditions is less robust. Hi, trying to find out why I hace hives. I think my sertraline 50mg , blue, oblong with 50mg on one side and G4900 on the other side is causing the hives. I wad getting tan pills from Oak Forest Healthcare Facility recently switched to Walgreens. The blue pills also taste terrible.I didnt have bad taste with the other. ## Hello, Wendy! How are you? First, if you're tasting them, then you aren't taking them properly. They actually should be placed in your mouth so far back that you're just short of gagging and then swallowed immediately with a full 8 ounce glass of water. As to the hives, have you contacted your doctor? That would be the best thing to do, so they can help you determine the cause and a proper remedy.

I am taking daxid from last one year almost .I am pregnant now is it going to affect my baby ## Hello, Somu! How are you? Congratulations on the baby! There are no controlled studies on the use of Daxid/Sertraline during pregnancy, so the possibility of there being some risk can't be ruled out. Have you informed your doctor that you were taking it? That would be the best thing to do, so they can monitor your situation.

What can make you have a false positive drug screen for both of these drugs ## I have just completed a drug scan and I have tested positive for both those, and I do not take them! upon further investagation I have discovered that Sertraline (Zoloft) can provide a false positive for Benzo's (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc2728940/) stemming from the hydroxylketone metabolite and there is very shaky evidence that Olazapine (Zyprexa or serequel) will cause false positive for opiates ## Does anyone who knows anything ever answer anything In here?? I read tons of questions but no body answers them so what is the point of this website?? I guess it is a place for people to vent. lol ## Did you read below?

I have been on Sertraline for over a year. I now have breast cancer and have just started chemotherapy. Is it safe to continue taking Sertraline? ## Hello, Jean! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the cancer diagnosis and I really hope all goes well and that they caught it early. As to continuing the Sertraline, I really think you should discuss that with your oncologist. Both cancer and the chemotherapy medications can be very touchy and the slightest thing could cause problems, thus it would be remiss of someone online to tell you yes or no on this, when that may not be in your best interest. oblong, gold ## first time to take it. what should i expect? ## This is Sertraline 100mgs, a generic for the antidepressant Zoloft. This is an SSRI, for this drug to have its full effect on you, it is necessary to take it for several weeks, thus there usually isn't much reaction or side effects at all when you take your first dose. The primary symptom that occurs when you first start taking it is drowsiness. It has a cumulative effect, which is why it takes several weeks for you to get the full effects of it an d see if it will work for you, so it will also take a few days before ytou may experience any other side effects. I used Daxid 50 last 5months, according 2 doctor now I feel better can I stop this I feel tired, headhche and many more problems thanks ## HI, Sameer! Sorry about the side effects you're experiencing. Daxid contains the active ingredient Sertraline, which is an SSRI antidepressant and it can cause those types of side effects in some people that take it. However, you should consult your doctor, before stopping it, for two reasons. The first is that it could be that it's just the medication making you feel better, so a relapse is possible if you stop taking it. And the second is due to the fact that if you stop taking it suddenly, you could suffer a severe rebound effect. Learn more Daxid details here. Have you talked to your doctor about stopping the medication?

I found my 7 year old with these and there not from my house any help would be appreciated ## Hi Adele, I have identified your pill as Sertraline (100 mg) Sertraline is a Hydrochloride prescribed as an antidepressant?. Many pharmaceutical substances are prepared as hydrochlorides so that they may be quickly released in the gastrointestinal tract; the body usually absorbs a hydrochloride within 15-30 minutes. The efficacy of Sertraline for depression is similar to that of older tricyclic antidepressants?, but its side effects are much less pronounced. Differences with newer antidepressants are subtler and also mostly confined to side effects. Evidence suggests that sertraline may work better than fluoxetine (Prozac) for some subtypes of depression. Sertraline is highly effective for the ...

sertraline HCL 50 mg has a blue coating, which I wipe off. I am allergic to dyes. Is the color on the 100 mg just a coating also? ## Hi, Carlene! Unfortunately, I can't provide you with an answer, yet. This is due to the fact that Sertraline is a generic and is manufactured by different companies, so I don't know which specific tablets you're asking about. But, what I can tell you is that there are some that don't have a coating, they are just white tablets. Thus, you may be better served to just make your pharmacy aware of your dye allergy, so they can provide you with tablets that have no dye in them and no coating. However, if you really want to check on the ones from the same manufacturer, I will gladly do so, if you can post back with the name of the manufacturer or...

Have been on 150mg for a while, now back on 50mg. I eat we'll and do ww but weights crept up, has anyone else found they gained weight and is it easy to still loose it x ## Hi Sara, Based on my research, "changes in weight" is listed as a general side effect of Sertraline. This could mean that it causes your weight to fluctuate up or down without any prior warning. Because this side effect can be unpredictable, it's not really something you can control outside of what you're already doing (exercising regularly and eating well). If it were me, I'd probably be focused on a lower fat diet and cutting out all refined sugars to help combat it as much as possible. But one can only do so much when the medication you're taking is going against your very efforts. You ...
