Seeking Alternatives To Dexona For Swelling Reduction After Chemotherapy

I am a 65-year-old woman who recently underwent breast cancer surgery and now am receiving chemotherapy treatment via IV. After completing four rounds of chemo, my arm has become notably swollen. My doctor prescribed Dexona, presumably to reduce the swelling. The recommended dosage is 4mg in the morning and 4mg in the evening, to be taken after meals for three days. Given my knowledge of the potential side effects of steroids, however, I am wondering if this is necessary. Could there be alternative methods to decrease the swelling? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, Indian Lady! How are you? Sorry about the swelling.

I understand your concern and whether or not you take any given medication is entirely up to you.

What did your doctor say had caused the swelling? What else have you tried to treat it?
