Sandoz Adderall Reviews (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

Sandoz is the best generic ir adderall I've used. August 11, 2017 I was told by the pharmacist they no longer produce this product. I asked if brand name was available and was told yes. When I received them I noticed they were made by Teva and let me tell you they are awful. I don't know what to do if I can't find a decent generic brand.

Sandoz isn't the same great generic it used to be. The last two months I've been able to find Sandoz at Costco's, however the effects (or lack thereof) have been vastly different from the Sandoz a few years ago. The new Sandoz feel weak and put me to sleep, while adding anxiety to the mix. I've also had muscle aches and overall lethargy on these Sandoz pills.
Prior to these Sandoz fills, I was getting Mylans at CVS. It appears that Mylan has upped their game and is now possibly the most effective generic (for me, at least). I haven't tried Teva or Barr in years so I cannot comment on their efficacy, but I'm most certainly going back to Mylan once these Sandoz sugar pills are done.

Re: Clinician (# 68) Expand Referenced Message

It was a little difficult to find my earlier discussions as they were apparently archived by MedsChat in December. But, I managed to get into one:

[1] Sandoz-Adderall-formerly-EON

The name of the thread is "Sandoz Adderall vs EON" and you might try searching for other Adderall threads in MedsChat. In this link, Scroll down to "Roy Says." He lists the variety of generics that were available in the early part of 2017, and a link to the site that lists medication ingredients for that are non-pharmaceutical, such as fillers and dies. Looking at each of those should give you more knowledge about the manufacturers. Links to other discussions are illuminated in Blue at the top of these pages.

Here is a more current discussion, but I refer you to the opening post from "Rich":

[2] TEVA-30mg-vs-AUROBINDO-PHARM-Amphetamine-Salts-Adderall

Also, look at posts from Leslie.

Seriously, I just don't know that I will continue this treatment since the quality of generics is so bad. I mean, there are discussions about these generics that date back to 2013 and 2014. I did, however, learn that the manufacturer of my choice generic, CorePharma was sold to Impax Laboratories. The CorePharma Chairman hired the AuroBindo Quality Control VP who promised to make CorePharma the new "preferred partner." I can't get a break with these guys! However, I called Impax, and learned that their "Epic Pharma" will manufacture the CorePharma formula. I sent all these good folks links to some of these threads so they might understand that the treatment was life-changing for us. But, I doubt they will change their strategy for us. In the meantime, I will contact FDA and see what I can learn about controlling the problems of pharmacies switching our formulas, that is, changing manufacturers, without prior warning. Additionally, I would like the FDA to look more closely at the formula's produced by manufacturers so that they might more closely follow the Brand formula. Then, I'll find out what is necessary to change the patent laws that allow any 'ole body with a smart business plan to produce the generic without regard for the patients. But I won't say it like that. Today, I took 4, 30-mgs of Teva. 60 mgs in am, and 60 in afternoon. I got through the whole day, but my mood and inspiration are very low. I hope you are doing better with your treatment.

Best Regards,
Chris

Lo (# 74) & Chris

Update: So I've now been taking 3/4 of my dose each time. I've determined the brand Sandoz releases much more rapidly, coupled with an effect targeted at the "hyper" NOT the "attention" part of my disorder. The expedited realease is evidence by severe headaches after only 3 hours and by an overwhelming lack of motivation, yet the constant stream of running thoughts remaining ever present. In my opinion, this generic medication is garbage and furthermore, the way all pharmacy staff and medical personnel keep claiming it to be exactly the same while disregarding my experience is shameful and disgusting. In a world that continues to promote person/client centered care, this arena of human service does not.

Re: GodFirst (# 96) Expand Referenced Message

Never mentioned I don't "feel" it or don't feel "high" or "euphoric". In fact I haven't felt anything close to that in years, BUT I can tell when the medicine is working and not causing MIGRAINE HEADACHES AND HYPERTENSION. That, my friend, is what SANDOZ now does when I take it. It never gave me those side effects the whole time I've taken it at the exact same dose I've taken for 10 years. UNTIL Dec 2017-Jan 2018. At which point I had to change to a different brand or even medicine due to those SIDE EFFECTS.

It is now trash medicine which will make many people sick if they continue taking it. I've tried it twice since then (fortunately my pharmacy allows us to return a medicine and exchange for a different brand of the same medicine if we don't find a certain brand agreeable) and the same reaction occurs IMMEDIATELY upon dosing. It's excruciating! It's immediate and the duration of the side effects lasts unbearably long.

So for any other persons out there taking SANDOZ Adderall and suddenly develop migraine headaches and high blood pressure (and the overall sick feeling that accompanies these maladies) get with your doctor or pharmacist and get a different brand cause it's NOT you, it's the medicine. Again, GodFirst, (seeing as you are very dense in your understanding of my complaint), I'm not after a "high" I'm after being a functional human being. This is, and always has been, my goal of venturing (with much trepidation) into the pharmaceutical treatment of my disease.

Re: Smitty (# 109) Expand Referenced Message

You can say that again! I have thought the same thing. The documentary The Pharmacist was about the opioid crisis.
I’ve taken this for many years, after my arguments against it. Although I had no clue what adderral even was! I finally agreed and found myself calling to thank my doctor for continuing to suggest it. I wouldn’t take anything because I didn’t want to feel different and zombied. When you have narcolepsy or an various reasons for a legitimate prescription, YOU NEED IT TO WORK! Especially after it does work because, then without it, the truth is you feel like someone or something else. Not even as you felt before you started taking it. It is literally hell on earth.
Trust me or don’t-whomever wants to argue…don’t! Sit down and shut up until you yourself have had the exact experience than any one of these valid people make. You cannot possibly begin to understand.
I am aware of the definition of addiction and call it what you want; IT IS NOT A CHOICE. It is a choice I personally argued against and suffered even longer because of it. If your body am does not produce certain chemicals or what it needs to function, your choice is to choose it and LIVE or you’re not a person at all.

Only someone who’s had the struggle can realize this.
And for pharmaceutical companies to have shortages or alter formulas on this or any other medication that is vital to function is beyond dangerous. My level of fury over chasing down Teva is insane. It isn’t the same. A lot of medications, you’d never know they difference. And some you do. It doesn’t surprise me, as I’ve always said they don’t care about a cure to anything that has a profit. I’m sorry, but it’s true. They are profiting so CAN WE JUST LIVE!

Re: Jessie (# 19) Expand Referenced Message

The light pink round from CVS is a generic made by Aurobindo, and the company is in India. And, you couldn't have put it more elgantly...they are crap! Ruined my treatment which had been so very successful, and I can not seem to get back on track. California medical is horrible and most doctors do not accept the insurance. Oh well, I['ll keep pursuing the treatment and hope something more can be developed to replace the excellent progress I made using the "brands."

I have taken many generic brands of Instant release Adderall,.... the most potent of them all is “Sandoz”.

The “Aurobindo” , ”Aurolife” , and “Sun pharmaceuticals” are the mildest , that does not mean they are weak and bad quality though.

Re: Crazythat (# 45) Expand Referenced Message

I think the only name brand available in 2018 is Shire/Barr Adderall XR. Teva now has the license for IR tablets, which are generic. This is my understanding.

Re: Clinician (# 68) Expand Referenced Message

I just wanted to chime in on trying to get your prescription filled before the prior fill was exhausted. Your doctor can change the mg but keep the dose the same, but because there is a change in mg, they would be required to fill. When I suddenly noticed the change I too contacted my doctor because I could just tell this new version was going to harm me with continued use. The new Sandoz is horrific. Anyway, he thought it may have been the dye, so to change the color he changed the mg, but still added up to the same amount taken per day. I had no problem with my insurance company or pharmacy when he did that, even though I had just had the other filled 5 days before. Originally it was 20mg once a day, and he changed it to 10mg twice a day. Unfortunately it turns out it is just the manufacturer Sandoz that is the problem, not the dye. But this month out of desperation I asked for a different treatment even though I'd taken Adderall for 8-10 years no problem(as long as it was the old version of Sandoz). The new version is nothing like it used to be and the difference was immediately noticable. But we decided on vyvanse and it's going ok. It's not Adderall, but it does clarify my ability to focus on task. It seems to lack the some of the prioritizing effect that Adderall gives me the ability to do. Plus, it fails a little on enabling the ability to follow through on tasks. But truely, thus could be a dosage issue. I may need more vyvanse for it to function like the Adderall did. But overall, it is so much better than the bad Adderall if you have no other choice. And I would bet there would be no issue at all with the pharmacy since it's basically an entirely different drug. Good luck!

So I’ve been on adderall 30mg 2x a day for over 19 years now and had great results on Corepharma and Sandoz generics. Now I can’t seem to find either brand anywhere. Does anyone know of any pharmacies that carry either of those brands in the DC / Maryland / Virginia area?

Although Teva can be hit and miss, out of all the other generics, Teva is the best.

I’m having the same experience. Any luck finding one that measures up to the original Sandoz? I’m curious.

Hi. So pretty much I have been taking ADHD meds since 5, switched to Adderall when I was 11 and took the brand name until insurance no longer covered it. The only one that worked half way decent was Sandoz. Last month, they stopped filling the Sandoz order because of the shortage and have been supplying me with other MFR and they have giving me bizarre side effects and are barely effective. I am completely losing my mind without it and I can't even do my normal day to day.

Anyway, does anyone know roughly how long this will be? Is it kind of like a permanent thing?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Raquel (# 117) Expand Referenced Message

I feel your pain. I used to take whatever generic amphetamine that was prescribed. When I moved and changed my pharmacy I was given Sandoz. All other generics suck. The reason people are having nausea, drowsiness, lethargy is because the other meds are basically a placebo. Basically taking these meds have very little bunk amphetamine in them. So they are not causing side effects. Rather a person is going withdrawals. Especially Teva. A person is better off with no medication at all in this situation. Been waiting nearly two months without medicine since the shortage. Have been offered to Alvogen, Teva, Epic and many others. They all absolutely are trash. Taking Sudafed in the mean time to help with withdrawals.

Just received new refill and got core pharma. It is available in California at CVS. Very shady goings-on. But, the damage is done, because I still am not myself. Interruption in treatment has caused problems. Anyway, thought I would alert the group.

I live in Ga, Sandoz is sold at Sam's Club here. The round 94’ round orange E 404 is what I’m prescribed (90 a month). If I fill at Walgreens, they are always the Teva Orange football shaped ones. I like them both. But whatever peach u31 one that CVS has was crap!!
