My fluctuating blood pressure has caused retinopathy, so I've no choice but to take meds for it. Is it safe to take all the things I have been prescribed?

Irbesartan 150mg
Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg
Flutiform (corticosteroid + beta agonist asthma spray)
Levothyroxine 137mcg
Liothyronine 10mcg
Iron capsules x 5 (to prevent low ferritin otherwise my hair falls out)
Probiotics
DHEA 5mcg sublingually

I'm a 47-year old female.

Thanks for your advice.

Hello, Koalabear! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the health issues that you've encountered.

There are a couple of issues that popped up, when checking all of these for possible interactions, though nothing seriously dangerous, just things you should be made aware of, so you and your doctor can watch out for any problems.

Taking the iron with the Levothyroxine and Liothyronine can cause you to not absorb as much of these medications as you normally would, so you may need frequent checking of your thyroid levels and dosage adjustments accordingly. You should also be aware that these medications can cause hair loss, so they may be contributing to your problem.

And the corticosteroid with the Hydrocaholorothiazide could actually cause you to absorb more of them both than usual, which means you could get more easily dehydration and there is a risk of hypoalemia, which is low potassium.

The DHEA can also increase the effect of the corticosteroid.

Is there anything else I can help with?
