I would like to know about the dangers of using this drug during the first 6-7 months of pregnancy

I was on saboxone when i first got pregnant. As soon as i found out i was pregnant, i begged and begged for them to take me off b/c i had everybody telling me the baby was going to be sick and go thru w/d's if i didn't. Long story short, i was switched to subutex b/c it's safer for the baby than saboxone, was on methadone for the 7th month of my pregnancy, back on subutex at 8mg 3xdaily and my little girl was born at 6 pound 10 ounces. They kept us in the hospital for 72 hours to make sure she didn't expirience any w/d's and she didn't. Make sure your pediatrician is on board before the birth so they know everything that's going on. She's now 5 months old, rolling over and advanced for her age!!! Good luck!! And btw, i had the university of mi telling me she was going to withdrawl for sure, but the doc who i went to specialized in ob and addiction and gaurenteed me she wouldn't and she didnt.

"Information about the use of buprenorphine (Suboxone) in pregnant, opioid-addicted women is limited; the few available case reports have not demonstrated any significant problems due to buprenorphine use during pregnancy. Suboxone and Subutex are classified by the FDA as Pregnancy Category C medications."

If you follow that link and go to page number 68 on that pdf file, you will find some very useful information regarding the use and effects of this medication during pregnancy (too much for me to copy and paste on here).
