How have your blood pressure readings been?
Are you also watching your fluid and salt intake?
There's a chance that such swelling may not be solely due to the medication, elevated blood pressure and too much sodium and fluid can cause edema and that, in turn, may lead to congestive heart failure.
So yes, there are alternative medications that can be taken, but you need to seek medical assistance first, to have this checked out and see what's causing the problem, rather than just trying to handle it yourself.
