Smz/tmp Ds 800-160 Tab Interpharm Details (Page 6)
UpdatedI would like details about SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 tablets by Interpharm.
hi, i have been using this medication for about a week, and the sore on my ankle is healed.i see many complaints here but i guess is only on some of us
Taking this for an abscess on the back of my thigh. Very painful spot, but this medicine helped a lot. For the first couple days it made me very drowsy and had mild nausea. I learned that taking this medicine with food helped with the nausea, and also, drink water. I'm not much of a water fan, so I only drank probably 8oz every hour or two and that seemed to do the trick.
I have just taken 2 pills today and have almost 6 rashes about 2 inches in diameter, and they itching me worst than the boils I was trying to get rid off.I have to stop taken it and decided to see the Dr. for my money back, but refused.
Well what happened
Been on this for 7/10 days and will probably quit it early as my underarm cyst has popped and cleared up. Smz-tmp has really whooped me!
A few days into taking I noticed extreme fatigue and tiredness including my drives into work. That was scary. I also notice slight achiness in joints, heart flutters, loss of appetite, mild headaches, and increased anxiousness since taking this drug.
Taking this drug is risky and full of side effects. A powerful drug so probably does some good as well. But after 7 days Ive had more than enough of it!
i was prescribed this medication 2 days ago. i took it at night and woke up with a rash on my private part and then it blistered and has been very itchy.i stoped taking the pills and now it has open sores on it and purple spots.i was taking it for 2 boils on my buttocks.i hope it will heal up.
I have been on this medication for 5 days now. But at first I was also prescribed vicoden to take with it. Once i ran out of vicoden, I started to feel extremely nausous and could not stay out of the bathroom. However, now that the vicoden is completely out of my system and I am only on this medication, I am not seeing any side effects. I have to take it due to an infection on my arm. The infection was very hot to the touch until I was on the meds for a couple days. Now there is a hole in my arm but it does look like it is healing. Like I said, I dont see any problems with this medication. And I am actually on a double dose taking two pills twice a day.
I have been put on this antibiotic several times and never had an adverse side effect. It is extremely strong and frequently used when others don't work or you have penicillin allergies. It is one of the most effective for staph or anaerobic bacteria. Antibiotics are not a one size fits all. Sometimes a doctor needs to try till he finds the right one for you.
I see. Based on your one, anecdotal, undocumented, atypical reaction to something which may or may not have been SMZ/TMP, the rest of the infected world should refuse to be treated with this medication which has saved hundreds of thousands of lives world wide? Is it not possible, instead, that you are an utter imbecile?
Why would you ask for your money back? Do you think your doctor prescribed this medication knowing that you would have an adverse reaction to it? You call him/her, tell them you had a reaction and get prescribed something else. Everyone's body reacts to medications differently. That was the most rediculous comment I have read on here, unbelievable. You're not a customer you're a PATIENT. You can't return your healthcare treatment bc you're not happy.
And just an update to everyone else, I've been taking this long term antibiotic for acne for a year, haven't had a pimple since. No side effects or reactions for me. This was my last resort since Tetracycline was d/c, Doxycycline made me nauseous, and I'm allergic to PCN. My dermatologist tried to ween me off by cutting my dose in half and I started to see tiny bumps on my forehead, she increased my dose back. Obviously you can't be on long term antibiotics forever, and I have over active oil glands so my next step is Accutane which took me a long time to decide to try, which will probably be at the end of the year since you can't be in the sun on the medication.
I was prescribed FAMOTIDINE 40MG Tab, Generic for PEPCID, PREDNISONE 50MG Tab for 3 Days and SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 Tab INTERPHARM 2 times a day for 10 Days from heat rash. So, after I was done with 3 day meds I was continuing taking SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 Tabs. Side affects; had problem falling a sleep, abnormal breeding upset stomach. The weird thing happened on the 8th day of taking SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 Tab. I took the tab at one of my camping trips 10 AM, with glass of milk, An hour later I drove down the mountain when I started to feel nausea, lightheaded. I stop my vehicle and took a nap/break for 15 minutes, later that day at 6 PM, I took second tab and at 1 AM, I was filing like heart attack I was having severe ringing in my ears, pressure on my left side of the chest heart area. I also experienced upset stomach dry mouth so, I was taking to ER. EKG is normal so is everything else. Ok, I stopped taking SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 Tab, 7 days past from ER visit and yesterday I had same symptoms I took a low dose of aspirin and went to ER. Today I still have ringing in my ears the blood pressure is normal I don't know what is wrong with me....
I dnt like this Med
I hate the feeling on it. I been taking it for a bowl. And it upsets my stomach can't sleep. Lord help me. Never again will I take this med
make sure you are taking this med with food, that could be why you are having nausea....also make sure to eat yogurt
Has anyone else been feeling disoriented? when I get in the car it's like all of my senses are s***ty. I'm also dizzy all day long. Would anyone condone driving while on this medication? By the way I am taking this with another antibiotic for staff infection
If that helps.
