Actually this is generic for Septra too. So if you are allergic be careful.

Please be careful in your negative response about this medicine and recommendation to others not to take it. I am currently taking this medicine for Staff, which many know can be life threatening. It is working great for me, and without any side affects whatsoever. There are not a whole lot of medicines that will fight some strains of Staff. I am allergic to Clyndamicin, so the other alternative was the Interpharm. Thank God it is working for me. Staff can be very deadly if not treated; I had no idea until I became very ill. For all who may read this response, if you do not know the dangers of Staff, please educate yourself.

I started taking it (along with Adroxil) because I got a staff infection and cellulitis on my elbow. Took it for 10 days and just took my last dose last night. I was nauseous the entire time along with a headache. To tell the truth, it felt like I had a bad hangover every moment I was awake. Here it is almost 24 hours after taking my last dose and I still feel bad. Better, but still bad. I'm starting to wonder if it's the medicine or something else.

I don't understand all of these negative side effects. I take this pill for acne and it works wonders for me, not only has it cleared up my skin (back chest and face) but its improved my coloring as well. I've had no side effects whatsoever, except compliments on my 'great skin'. Love this med and would encourage it for anyone with acne. Much luck everyone.

I had a abscess in my breast and I had to get it drained every since I been taking this meds I have been going to the bathroom like crazy my bowels have been so loose and today went I went to the bathroom I release all this blood in my bowels this meds is not for me I going to stop taking it and going to the doctors on Monday..

It may be a reaction to another med. Something to do with the chemistry. I take blood pressure meds and was prescribed a 10 day course. It seems to recombine and have alternate effects. Without pressure meds no problem. With meds my heart raced, skin went numb but I could feel my insides, my face went numb and had racing thoughts, anxiety. Careful when taking other meds.

omg lol at your post because its almost the same exact thing I went through. Only difference is I had to have my cyst/boil cut open to drain. I never in my life experinced pain like this. I tried to burst them myself and later found out that was not a good idea. but my brain kept saying its nothing but a small pimple. lol. I was upset because my main obgyn doctor said it wasnt an emergency. So when I went to my specialist her exact words were...."ewww oh GOD" So I had surgery and had to repack daily with guages and a lot of bandages. And Yes my anus is itchy so I feel your pain and know exactly what your talking about. The medicine only made me feel like I had to vomit because I had ate two medium steaks and four sides. So I over-ate and was the reason of having an upset stomach. Also I have eczema and it has been helping clear that up.My specialist proactivley wrote me yeast infection scripts in advance, because antibiotics embalance me.

I am on day 10 of 10 for treatment of a possible staph infection on my foot, with subsequent small boils popping up on a couple knuckles. The antibiotics worked allowing the wounds to dry out and close, and this i'm thankful for. But today i woke up with a red itchy rash on my back and arms, feelings of irritability, chills, and red hot slightly puffy face. So I called the doctor and apparently I am now allergic to Sulfa drugs...who knew? I was never allergic before today. I wonder if my dose was too large?

I look at it like this: All of our bodies are under different stresses are at various levels of health and resistance. For some people, even one SMZ TMP can trigger an allergic reaction. Some reactions more serious than others...depending on the state of health or resiliency of the body. So there is no clear cut answer for everyone. For me it took 10 days for the final straw to land that broke the camels back.

My plan is to recover my health by eating a whole foods diet based on nutrient dense foods. This way my body is supported with many nutrients and beneficial fats that will allow my body to do what it can and wants to do: restore health to equilibrium. research weston a price

First post is a whiner. It probably wasn't the drug...it was your crazy head. Let me guess you have a list of allergies a mile long? This drug is mostly perscribed for uti. If you want your uti to go away...take it. You can't believe everything you read on the internet.

I am on day 9 of a 10 day prescription because of a cyst on my side. The cyst is shrinking every day and Im able to drain it. By day 2 the tenderness was gone and I was able to touch it. I havent had a single side effect. Those that have so many issues with it just cant take it. There is always someone that cant handle some drug...it happens. It dont mean the drug is bad.

So I gave this medicine great reviews. The moment stopped taking it I became extremely sick & broke out into a fire burning rash all over my body. My doctor said I was over medicated & was allergic to these medicine. so the majority of bad comments are true. This medicine has horrific side affects.

Started taking this pill 3 days ago for cysts/boils was great at first then started having stomach pains, itching, pain shooting down my left arm. Don't really care for this medicine.

I took this medication and normally I don't finish medication but this one I had to because I had severe abdominal pains. Only problem is I was prescribed this medication also with a sort of hormonal booster to help lower my irregular period.
The side affects were depression apathy anxiety and a few times I fainted. I did have the occasional itch but it was a slight bother compared to my depression which actually got to the point of suicidal thoughts. If you feel these at all please notify your doctor right away. I already finished the medication but I still feel the lingering affects of anxiety sadness and feeling pretty apathetic. Not to mention I am always so fatigued which is hard because I can't afford to stay at home. People noticed the difference I was no longer talkative I was always confused (still am at times as a matter of fact this is my first coherent thought in about two weeks) lately everything has been a blur and its not pleasant. This medication is obviously not for everyone especially if you interact it with certain medications.
I couldn't stop taking these medications because I already had hormonal imbalance what it did was heightened everything.

I broke out with a Staph. infection on my skin from head to toe. Everything from small pimple heads, furuncles, and boil like sores. Not only was the pain throbbing everywhere but also felt like my skin was on fire. Doctor put me on Bactrim DS four days ago and the infection on the surface is already virtually gone. The first couple of days I had a bit of upset stomach, but nothing bad and it went away. I also scrub my body down in the shower with Hibiclens (Chlorhexidine Gluconate solution 4.0% x/v) soap, once a day. I have had no other side effects. Some people may be allergic to sulpha and not be awhere of it until taking this drug.
