Round White Pill C 50 N / Pill Imprinted One Side Line Across Center Other Side Imprinted Letters Pliva With #'s 433. Does Anyone Know What These Ar

I was given a RX for a mild sleeping pill Trazodone 50 MG. I have tried taking one as prescribed occassionally and it keeps me up all night. Then the next day I feel fatigued and have a headache. They are white round pills with a line down the center on one side and tthe other side has letters PLIVA AND THE #433 ON THE SIDE. Couldn't find it in the PDR.

The tablet marked PLIVA 433 does contain 50mgs of Trazodone, however, it is not actually a sleeping pill.

Trazodone is an SARI antidepressant, which can cause some drowsiness as a side effect, but it will not actually work like regular sleeping pills.

That also explains your symptoms of the headache and fatigue, because those are normal side effects of this class of medications.

Did your doctor say that this was a sleeping pill? What information did the pharmacy give you, when you had it filled?

Kingette, are you sure you're taking Trazadone? Or are you located outside of the U.S.?

In the U.S. there are not Trazadone capsules available, it is only available in tablet form, in either a regular or extended release formulation.

I've been taking 150mg of trazadone for years. It has been prescriberd to me for anxiety and insomnia. Over the years I have a few different Dr's and they all prescribed it for the anxiety and insomnia I get at night.

I ocassionally use it and it works for me. It is,a mild antidepressant and is frequently prescribed for patients already medicated on other antidepressants but can't sleep. I ocassionally use it and it works for me. It may just not do the job when paired with with the particular drug you use. I use Buproprion (generic Wellbutrin). I take it ocassionally, get 8 hrs sleep and wake up refreshed. If I were you I would just call your doctor and use a different drug.

trazadone, in my experience, is an aid to detoxing off benzo's (xanax, klonopine, etc.)Might be wrong, but there it is....

It works well enough as a sleep aid for nearly very colleague I know to use it for MILD to MODERATE INSOMNIA and for pats with drug snd alcohol abuse Hxs. N. that's not in the PDR as an indicate, but please trust me, it works just fine. Wide dosage range. I have patients on Trazodone 150-300g qHS right now, she as an addition to Ambien 20g or Lunesta 2-3mg (I don't like Lunesta, but it's really basically SIX of one v. a HALF-DOZEN of the other and I have more important things to do than argue psychopharmacology with the untrained and the uninformed.)

Trazodone is very rarely used as an antidepressant these days and more commonly used, off label, as a sleep aid. It works very well for a lot of ppl. There are less severe side effects compared to some narcotic sleeping medications. i.e. zolpidem (Ambien) which also works well (for some). But is a nightmare for for others. HaHa! No pun intended! But seriously, Google "Ambien stories".

Trazodone gave me effects like an antidepressant would(imagine that!)and had worse night than just sitting awake all night with insomnia. Ambien put me in a semi sleepy mode and I saw tall shadow rabbits (Donnie Dark kind and before film was made) circling my room as though projected & alive. Almost creepy, but I've seen worse and the rabbit people were not aggressive.

Trazadone is an antidepressant, however, it is also prescribed for sleep. My MD prescribes 50 mg to me at bedtime for sleep. The only correct way to take it for sleep, as instructed by my Dr is:. Take your trazadone LAST thing before you go to sleep. Take your pill, no TV, no radio, turn off the light, lay your head down, you will fall asleep... Just like that. NO MORNING HANGOVER OR SIDE EFFECTS. BUT, it MUST be taken correctly as I just explained. Otherwise, it won't work properly. Take it EXACTLY as outlined above. You will feel rested and renewed!!!! Try it this way. My very smart Dr told me this and it works like magic. Good luck.

I was at first prescribed Trazadone for sleeping like you.
Each successive night I had extremely bad night mares (close to night terrors).
I called my doctor and he prescribed LUNESTA and it worked like a charm. 20 years later I am still taking it. I had one doctor suggest that I switch back to Trazadone and I said NO and I explained why.

If this were me, I would throw the pills out, *IF* you don't know, throw the all of the pills out. DO NOT TAKE ANY PILL THAT IS IN A CONTAINER THT IS NOT MARKED PROPERLY.

I was told it would help me with my insomnia and anxiety. I dont like the way i feelt when i woke up do. So i taje half of the pill depends some times i take 3 thirds.

For me, trazadone has bottomed out my bp. I found this out in hospital. We even tried as low as 12.5 mg. Seriously. It was scary. Jus sayin. I cannot take it. My doc prescribes restoril 30mg for sleep now.
