Round Pill Imprint D On One Side And 2 On The Other

I saw some round orange pills on my brother's dresser. He is a recovering addict and I'm scared he's using again. The pills are fairly small, round, an orange/peach color, there is an imprint of a D on one side and a 2 on the other. Can someone please let me know what this is.

I don't want to assume the worst but I know that he was not prescribed this medication nor was it given to him by a medical professional.

It's a drug called Dilaudid. Not good news but at least I know. Thanks for your help.

Yes, Summer, that is what I am finding it to be, as well.

2mgs of Hydromorphone, that active ingredient in Dilaudid, which is a very potent narcotic analgesic.

If he is using it and abusing it, some signs you can watch for are: nausea, severe drowsiness and sedation, lowered rate of breathing and his generally acting spaced out or dizzy.

Are you sure it's a Dilaudid? D not P on one side and 2 on the other (D/2)?

A friend calls it dilly, but I haven't seen a pic of dilly with D on one side and 2 on the other.... Generic?

D on one side is hydromorphone. If it’s a P then it’s Dilaudid. Either way it’s an opioid of 2mg strength. Each pill is a very low dose but if you take enough of them or are misusing them, obviously that’s very potent. No matter what, an addict shouldn’t have them for any reason. If you decide to remove them from his room, take them to a pharmacy for disposal. Do NOT flush them.
