If you go to the lady's room almost every 45 min and you feel like it is burning when you are seated yet when you pass urine it is not, how can you treat that? ## Metronidazole is an anti-infective. what will happen if I drink alcohol and take with metronidazole 334? ## It can cause aggravation of the side effects, so you will likely experience worse nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. I never took the metrnidazole only the amox. I have nearly finished the course and still have dirrheoa and tummy pains. I have some Augmentin 375 given for the original div. which I didn't like. If I take the Aug 375 with the metronidazole 400 will it be more effective than just the amox 500mg?

I have been given flagyl and vagaisil...but i started taking them this will be my 3rd day but i am getting abdominal pain and cramps really bad. I feel tjem in my ovaries to is that normal. ## It is most likely from the Flagyl, which contains the active ingredient Metronidazole, it can cause abdominal cramping as a side effect. How long after taking pliva 334 for 7 days could someone engage in sexual intercourse with their partner? ## I think it depends on the reason why the person is taking Metronidazole? If it is bacterial vaginitis or some other sort of infection that might interfere with intercourse, then in my opinion, it would be in both partner's best interest to wait till Metronidazole treatment is fully finished and maybe even take caution a few days afterwards to allow their body to heal from the infection. I would personally feel comfortable after the 10th day, knowing that my partner has pretty much fully recovered from whatever infection it was; but that's just me and I'm sure others wouldn't want to wait an extra 3 days Lol! Is the Pliva 334 tablet (Metronidazole) a viable treatment? ## When you say "the bacterial infection", are you referring to something specific or just an infection in general? All sorts of bacteria (infection or not) can pass itself along during sexual intercourse. For this reason protection is just as important in this case as it is when avoiding pregnancy. (Plive 334) Metronidazole is used in the treatment of diverticulitis; bacterial infection, trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginitis, and more. I wouldn't recommend using it however unless you have no other means of protection and you are aware that this other individual does have an infection of some sort. I took flagyl for 4 days after a bad reaction (stomach pain, mucus in bowel movements) to Ceftin. I was supposed to take the flagyl for 7 days but couldn't tolerate the nausea, etc. It has been a week since I stopped the Flagyl and my symptoms from the Ceftin are returning. Is there anything over the counter I can take to remedy this? I am almost twenty years old. I just had a d&c and was prescribed this for a vaginal bacteria infection. I have had severe stomach and back pain that feels like I'm being stabbed. What is this pill? White oblong with 93 on both sides? Thanks. ## Hi Sara, The closest match that shows up under the U.S. drug databases contains the marking "93 | 93" on one side and "852" on the other side. This is also a white oval/oblong pill that otherwise fits you description. Could you have possibly missed the imprint on the back of the pill you are referring to? My dentist perscribed Amox Clav 875 mg every 12 hrs and Metronidazole 500mg every 8 hrs for infection. I am having chills, nausia, and feel dizzy. Is this to much antibiodic for one individual? I am alergic to ALL mician groups; would this have an effect with these two pills? ## Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, are the active ingredients in Augmentin, both it and the Metronidazole are antibiotics. The dosage can vary, depending on the severity of the infection, so if yours was pretty bad, then this dosage and combination is not really surprising. In this case, it's very difficult to say what's causing your problem, because it is possible that it's from the medication, but it could also be caused by the Diverticulitis.
