Flagyl With Pain

I have been given flagyl and vagaisil...but i started taking them this will be my 3rd day but i am getting abdominal pain and cramps really bad. I feel tjem in my ovaries to is that normal.

It's probably the Flagyl, which contains Metronidazole, it can cause these types of symptoms as side effects.

However, if they are severe, or you're certain it's ovarian pain, that is not normal and you should consult your doctor, as it may be caused by something else.

Were you taking them for a yeast infection?

I did come across a body of information that mentioned severe abdominal pain being associated with Flagyl (Metronidazole). It also noted that after discontinuation of Flagyl (Metronidazole), the patient's abdominal pain subsequently improved.

So to answer your question, it does appear to be a less common side effect of this drug (that isn't listed on many side-effect lists), however I wouldn't recommend continuing it's use if the pain persists or becomes too bothersome.

Is there any other alternative antibiotic you can switch to?

As far as Vagisil is concerned, the only side effect I can find that may relate to what you're experiencing is a severe burning, stinging, or sensitivity where the medicine is applied.
