Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 5)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:

*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.

I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.

Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.

Re: Vic (# 1073) Expand Referenced Message

I just got the hikma ones because the rhodes made me so sick after being on the akorn/high tech ones for 7 years. I can let you know in a few days how they compare because i just got my new script yesterday.

Re: Vic (# 1074) Expand Referenced Message

Akorn pharma went bankrupt and had nothing to do with the legal suit due to dental problems. They were fined a few years ago because they were deceiving medicare on one of their products or something like that and they were about to be bought out by some overseas company like in germany and the deal fell through because they found a lot of alarming issues or corruption or something you'll have to look it up for the full details, but ultimately they closed everything because they could not find a buyer for their company. I went on an internet deep dive after I had to switch because the akorn/high tech ones weren't available to me after 7 years of being on the same brand. When I received the rhodes brand, they made me so sick so I got the hikma brand this time, and I don't know how I feel yet. I was wondering if you have had any issues with a certain brand?

Re: Nikki G (# 1060) Expand Referenced Message

Are the Rhodes just out of stock? Walgreens just tried to give me sun, and I’ve had the bp8’s for years, as they are the cleanest, closest to the molucule, don’t leave a bad taste in my mouth, and make me irritable all day.
Anyone know the status please post! Thank you I have chronic pain.

Re: Heather C (# 1056) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Heather,

Wow, you like the hikma?! I have been on the hi-techs for years now. No more bankrupt! My guess is the legal suits saying that they ruin our teeth might have something to do with it?! Anyway thanks for your time and take care!! I live in Wa. The Costco I go to now carries hikma. Did you ever try the Roxanne brand? They were great for me!! Thanks again!!

Re: Vic (# 1061) Expand Referenced Message

I noticed your reply was recent and I also take the hi tech brand which is technically akorn which in march went brankrupt and closed. I assume by now you have had to make a switch and recently i got the rhodes brand which made me really sick like i was in withdrawal and always gives me a headache. what other brand do you prefer? I'm about to try hikma brand next but im scared they may be worse than the rhodes after reading these reviews? If they can make them as small as the hi tech ones and still be effective then it makes you wonder whats going into these huge pills by other brands!!!

Re: Chris (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

I know this is an old thread but you are one of few people I have found that believe this. I have been on buprenorphine for 7 years and have always had the akorn (hi-tech) ( small white with 8 and an arrow pill) and they have worked so well for me ! Akorn recently went bankrupt and abruptly shut down all of their manufactoring facilities. I was given the Rhodes brand and I have been sick from them all month. I feel like Im in withdrawal . So many people truly believe that because they are made by the same maker as oxycontin that they are superior in some way. If you look at all the reviews for Rhodes Pharmaceuticals they barely have a 1 star rating because so many people are complaining that their pain pills dont feel like there is anything in them except filler. I guess Im just excited to see that someone doesnt think the hi tech are crap and I was wondering if you still take this medication what other brand you have found to be just as good since we have no option to get the small hi tech ones anymore? I know this is old so if anyone could tell me that would be great.

There is another lawsuit I saw on tiktok for suing about dental issues with suboxone. I have the lawyers info somewhere. Supposedly this one is still happening.

Re: Nikki G (# 1060) Expand Referenced Message

Do u use goodrx? It helps save a lot. I also get mine from safeway pharmacies. My grocery store. I call 2 days in advance so they can order. They've had hi tech for 3 yrs now but they claimed bankruptcy. This time I got rhodes BP 8 and after reading this chain am quite happy. They also gave my friend the Roxannes. I have never seen any kind besides those 3 at a safeway pharmacy. I'm also in va though. Maybe try a big chain grocery store in ur area..not Walmart. I hope that helps.

They are exactly the same as the 54-411 just made by another company but they are just as good if not better in my opinion

Awesome reply, if consumed with thinking on it; ur replacing getting on with ur life for addiction, I understand dosage differences, but at least we’re not in the streets looking anymore. Chop wood & carry water.

Re: Goozer (# 10) Expand Referenced Message

I have tried the Hi-Tech and they have gave me a massive headache. The 54 411 and the PR b8 are the only 2 that I will ever take as long as I'm on Subutex. Hopefully I can get a good doctor that will listen to me and switch me back to my painkiller.

Re: Chris (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

Hi-Tech sucks. 54 411 is the best but if I have to use a different brand I can do P R b 8.

Re: Nikki G (# 1060) Expand Referenced Message

Call your Dr and tell him what you want. I use the hi tech the arrow on one side. You are so right that one you mentioned made me feel the same way! It was horrible! Depending on where you are living. Costco in Wa has the ones I take. Use Good Rx, maybe you do to get it cheaper! Why don’t you have insurance? No affordable act or help where you are? Good luck!!!

I can only get actavis with the moon from any pharmacy around here and there's even a shortage of those lately. It's a search for meds every script renewal and this last time it was 6 days was without until pharmacy had them again (any pharmacy). The rhodes are gone. The actavis is not working for me like other and supposed to taper off but not able to with these and go through them a lot quicker. I need more medication almost an hour later which leads me to cravings and battling my self to not do anything stupid after being clean for 7 years, but these actavis pills are pushing me.

HOW CAN I find a pharmacy that still has others? They won't tell me and I can not even afford the actavis. I pay cash and it's $177 opposed to the $41.00 was paying for rhodes brand. Please help.

Yes they are similar imo even better than the 54:411

I’ve been battling finding the 54’s for 15 years. Pharmacies do not want to pay for them that is why it’s hard to find them. Only small mom and pop pharmacies carry. Doesn’t matter the doctor specifically writes/puts on prescription to fill a brand specific every single major chain pharmacy refuses to order the 54’s.
