Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 48)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:

*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.

I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.

Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.

Re: Tina (# 189) Expand Referenced Message

If you trust your doctors so much why would you be here? Sorry if you feel I have not been a help. I have only stated the facts tina and that is mylan does have the lowest amount of buprenorphine in it than all other 6 generics, just a fact. Your dr can tell you anything these days and if I have found a doctor I can trust completely enough to know his or her word as fact I would be very happy. Tell your doctor to do research. Each generic is different and mylan has 8.62 and all others range 8.64. This is just a fact and I'm sure each batch is different. Just here to help as I came here for help myself. I guess I have a lot of good and bad experience when it comes to bog pharma and experience and facts speaks worlds more so than a doctor trying to rush you out his office. Sorry wish I could have been a better help to you tina. Best wishes and much love. Sorry I don't agree with you about mylan and teva. I have right to my opinion as does everyone but I would not say I have been anything but of help to everyone here as they have been the same to me. God bless and stay healthy everyone!

Re: Charlene (# 187) Expand Referenced Message

You are most welcome. As anyone else, I found myself on medschat and happy to help in anyway. I am very big on generics and knowing which is most effective for myself on every medication. Our generation does not really know real drugs, just generics. You all have helped me so much as well just being able to talk, learn and provide feedback. I try my best to stick to the facts provided but honestly we can't really trust big pharma or providers anymore. It is sad. So if we do not advocate for ourselves no one will. Thank you for being active in this thread. I am thinking of starting a podcast for all generic meds and helping people find and get the most out of their preferred medication on all medicine as it is a big game changer. Twenty years ago we would not have this issue with generics but we do. Maybe look for my future podcast on generic medications, hopefully it will be soon and will be just like this but chatting with me and hearing my feedback. But you are more than welcome and thank you as well to u all. This is how we grow together, with fact feedback and working together. This is how change happens and I'm happy to help anyone in the process. I know once I start my podcast on self-awareness and personal growth, all entertainment, and all medicine and news it will be a big help to many and hope to provide the same feeling u have to everyone I can. Thank you. Much love. Love u all. Stay healthy.

Yes, Roxanne has been gone ALONG time ago. Was westward now hikma. Alot of changes made in the inactive ingredients. A bit more chalky and gritty

Re: Charlene (# 192) Expand Referenced Message

Honestly teva is made up of many many parts and in my opinion teva makes really crappy medicines and medications. There are very very rare and few generics that they make that are actually effective, their bup being one of them. Most teva products are junk and I stray from them as much as possible. I got a teva z pack and wow what junk and is like that for almost every medication I have tried from teva. It certainly is not the worlds largest or even near best. Medick and pfizer companies and watson companies are much better.

Re: Amanda (# 194) Expand Referenced Message

no not at all like the 54 411 the new rhodes are closest to the teva formulation and pretty much identical to it. i have both generics and roxanne westward and himka formulations are all two times less efficient than rhodes. everyone is different but rhodes is just like the teva b 799 except one ingredient and indiviour is brand name guys and brand name subutex is no longer allowed in the states. if you like the 54 411 try the rhodes two times more potent for me at least and i have both on deck

Guys, teva is still available. Just google GoodRx buprenorphine. Someone here was right, it is pretty much impossible to get in the states but it is still made by teva with the crooked b 799. Teva does not distribute it in the states except rare occasion of a dire need or special ordered from out of the states. Not to worry though, the rhodes generic is by far the best. It is two times more effective than roxanne, westward and hicks formulations for me. I tested it many times and rhodes ingredients are identical to the teva generic except like one ingredient. Best option in states imo is rhodes as it is certainly two times more effective for me than roxanne, himka or westward made ones. I have yet to try actavis but seem to hear it helps with pain more but I'm a chronic pain patient and rhodes works just great. Teva still makes the b 799 but almost impossible to get in states and really no need as rhodes is 99 percent identical pretty much. And teva is not brand name. Brand name is made formally by reckitt benkiser who sold their pharma department to indiviour who now owns and makes both brand suboxone and subutex. Brand name subutex is no longer available in the states either but is outside the states. Brand name subutex is made by indiviour now but not legal in states. Brand name suboxone is though. I will stick with my rhodes made by purdue. Thank you for all feedback guys, love it.

Re: Sarah97 (# 204) Expand Referenced Message

Roxanne sold out to westward and westward sold out to himka. The original roxanne have been siffened through and are gone. You can still get the 54 411 now owned by himka but it is nowhere compared to the og roxanne and rhodes is double potency to me than even the og 54 411 by roxanne. If u want the next thing closest to it they make their own formulation of 54 411 formerly roxanne but it is far from the og roxanne formulation.

Re: Sarah97 (# 203) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Sarah, what pharmacy is it if you don't mind telling me? Mass is kinda big so if it's close enough to me I'd make the trip to get the Rhodes Purdue. I'm starting to have some allergy type problems with the Roxanne westwards the past 2 months but never have before. I really want to try the Rhodes Purdue. Thanks.

Re: Sarah97 (# 204) Expand Referenced Message

We still have it in Pa/WV/Ohio area with no long term disruptions in supply in the past 8 yrs. It is manufactured by WEST-WARD now which was a corporate buy out but it was in name only not interrupting the manufacturing process. Suppliers have contracts and negotiate for cheaper prices, that is probably what has happened in your area.

I want to know what happened to Roxanne brand. I’m from mass and as far as I know multiple people told me (that our prescribed Buprenorphine) that they had a brand change that have been on this medication. They are now getting Actavis. Small 8mg pill with an arrow. Then today I went to pick up my script at my pharmacy in a whole other town 45 mins away and they as well had a brand change and they now have the Rhodes Purdue brand. When indeed I was also getting Roxanne. Which I prefer over everything. But what’s up with Roxanne right now? Does anyone know? Something is definitely not right? Maybe a back order or something?

Re: Charlene (# 196) Expand Referenced Message

Me too Charlene. I think the name brand is Teva. I didn’t this Himkamia brand your talking about, is also called WestWard. It doesn’t work to kill my pain. Mylan and Actavis brand os Buprenorphine are the only ones that work for me, even though I don’t like the taste the Actavis brand. I don’t know why what the difference is on how all these different brands of Buprenorphine work in each person. WestWard and Hi-Tech do not work for my pain at all. I have a few left of them for previous months, I take them at night because I don’t have to walking during those times. I have a Syndrome that causes me to have severe pain daily. It’s all over my body. It’s a connective tissue disorder and I have no collagen left in between my bones. I walk bone to bone all the time. It’s like when your brakes go out on a car and the pads have nothing left but the medal. Then the medal rubs up against the rotar and weld together. That’s what my body does. Then it causes bones spurs and they float around in my body. The bones spurs can attach to a major artery at any time and I can bleed to death internally. It’s called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) type1, the Hypermobitity type. I’m super sensitive to touch. When people hug me, it hurts my body. I didn’t use to be this bad, until I had hysterectomy. The estrogen in a females body helps to keep them young and stops the body from breaking down as fast. It goes the same way for men, but their is testosterone. It’s goes through the natural aging process. My body hasn’t, since I got the hysterectomy. It smacked my body into memo pause right after the hysterectomy. That’s why the EDS is so horrible now, than if I was in my 80’s or 90’s. I also have severe lower lumbar stenosis, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis and severe fibromyalgia. Which all of them combined make my body hurt all the time. I’m also low on spinal fluid and my neurosurgeon think that caused from when I broke my back, because I walked around with it broken for 2 months. The pain center I was going to, kept saying, it was a pinched nerve. Come to find out it wasn’t. I hate taking pain medication and other pills to stop all of my pain and nerve damage. What else am I going to do, to have at part of a normal life? If I go off of the pain medication, I will not be able to function. I saw a specialist in California, in December of 2017. He had physical thearpy come in to work with me and having no pain medication in my system. I got up using a walker and about fell flat on my face using walker, because of the pain being so severe. The crippling in body is to far progressed. He said, I’ll never be able to go off of pain medication to at least have any quality of life. I trusted him, by saying that, because I was going to try the medical marijuana. He said, I wouldn’t benefit from it, because he’s had other patients with simular situations like and they went that route. They ended up coming back to the doctor and getting back on this pain medication. Before I went to California I was bedridden. Now I’m able to get up and do things for myself. I’m even driving again and I hadn’t driven prior going out there for 3 years. What I don’t get is, I only take 8mgs in the AM of Buprenorphine and 8mgs in the PM of Buprenorphine and it is working for my pain. Before I went to California, I was on 240 mgs of opiate pain medication and it hardly was killing my pain. This medication hasn’t had to be increased at all since, I’ve been on it, either. What I don’t understand that. If pain center knew about this medication, why didn’t they put me on this one? Otherwise my body wouldn’t have gotten so weak and I wouldn’t be in the situation I’m in a position where, I have to work everyday to get stronger and stronger. I’ve rattled on long enough, I’m just happy there’s was another alternative for me besides taking all those opiate pain medications. I know Buprenorphine is a opiate to, but it’s antagonist against the opiate effects. That’s why it’s used for opiate addiction. That’s not why I’m on though.,

Just got some today. Didn't even realize they were different than my usual Roxanne's then I looked and was like crap these are a different brand. So far so good. Very similar to Roxanne. May even like these better. I actually feel a little euphoric. I know that's never the goal with any bupe but still. I'll take it. I think you made a good decision.

Re: Tina (# 193) Expand Referenced Message

That's right tevas brand was discontinued back in 2015 I believe. It was my favorite generic as it was very close to the brand name in effectiveness. I just say it again because there was some confusion on here because some people had posted that it was still available and we're telling people it was. Activis is owned by Teva now and sometimes it is listed as a Teva product and that confuses some people. The real teva buperenorphine is gone unfortunately.
