Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 44)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:

*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.

I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.

Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.

Re: goozer (# 283) Expand Referenced Message

I agree again, soma is so much better. That's what I used to always get..now this pain management dr I saw, he is the one back in the day load be up with lortab 10s along with some..I used to get all my pills from him prior to me starting bup.. but when I seen him he was willing to give the percocet 10s no problem. He mentioned baclofen, I said how about soma ? I could tell he was not caving in at this point so I let it go.. the baclofen did nothing for me it was the first time I even heard of them..I take my son to him now and that must be what's he give now so my son gets those and lortab 10...I took him there because I found out he was getting into my subs..so that dr gave him suboxone he will not give subutex..so I had my son jump from subs to lortabs..if he is going to take something I think I rather it be that then subs because of how addictive I am to bup..I don't ever want my son to feel like that

Yes goozer, my son is 26 I think he got his benefits 5 years ago...I to have gotten disability for along time now, I think it was 1992..so its S.S.D. . I went to a physciatrist and i told him i was thinking about it and if i did would you be willing to help me out with the paperwork..he said yes..it was for depression. But at that time he labeled it as major disorder depression. I had no trouble what so ever..once i started the paperwork it took around 4 months to wait and see. In the meantime I worked at a hospital to i used my long term disability so i would still get paid while waiting..once approved they added all the months up and my first check from them was around $2,000 after that monthly on the 3rd it about $800 but my husband works. I could never do it on my own...so i signed my son up. Again no problem.i know a guy who has been trying for a long time. He cannot get it..i told him go see a physciatrist..

Re: goozer (# 285) Expand Referenced Message

I agree 100% . I cannot see myself driving to the clinic every single day, having to visit some type of therapy they require, and if you want to see the dr. That to is a long process..I'm not into any of that those people that want to rave so much on how better they have it..I just think well I have 3 scripts and I'm good to go...when me and my sister started talking again I mentioned it and she was in disbelief..she was like really you got scripts for months..yes..

Sorry this might be late, but my phone keeps acting up. Every time I try to get to this page it keeps saying 403 errors...but the last two times I got my refills was from Rhodes. I didn't ask for anything specific. Every time my refill Is due a few days in advance is call tell them the amount I will be needing and make sure they have that amount in or get ready my refill is due..it seems like all they have is Rhodes. But don't forget the winn Dixie in promenades mall have the hikma brand..any more questions feel free to get with me

Re: goozer (# 290) Expand Referenced Message

I know this Goozer. The Doctor in California explained it to me. Plus I already knew that you can get dependent on the Buprenorphine, as well. I’m not an addict and I’ve never abused my medications in any way. I’ve have taken so many different types of pain medications, to treat my pain. This is the only medication I’ve taken in the last 9 years that’s worked for my Severe Pain thus far. Every time I’m prescribed a new medication, I get my current PDR out and read about the medication. Then after that, I read the leaflet that comes with prescription. If there’s any other places I can find information about all the medications I’m taking, I will seek that out. I do all of my research before I take the medication. I ask the doctor what side effects other people have experienced while taking this pain medication, even though it won’t have the effect to my body as it will to another person. I’m not trying to be antagonistic towards you, but I’m intelligent as well. I’m not a juvenile that needs help along the way, and me to take my medication or what kind it is, or what it’s for.

I was prescribed Buprenorphine for my severe pain because of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Degenerative Disc Disease, Fibromyalgia, Scoliosis, Osteoarthritis, and Severe Lower Lumbar Stenosis. On top of that, I’m low on Spinal Fluid. My neurosurgeon say it’s from all the falls I’ve had over the years. Then worse fall to date was on 11-21-2009. Then the doctors did not listen to me explaining there was more wrong with me than a pinched nerve.

Since I broke back, my life has not been the same. I’ve been off and on so many different medications to help me with my pain. When I saw a specialist in California, he told me with my crippling problems and with them so far progressed. I can’t go without any pain medication for the rest of my life. I don’t like taking medication, but it’s better than being bedridden like I was before I went to California.

Goozer, please let me explain why I’m on this medication, before you post things out there about me and assume why I’m taking and what kind of medication it is.

What area and I will direct you to a pharmacy near you who has himka 54 411. I recommend Rhodes as it is made by Purdue, a very quality and long-running pharma company but if 54 411 works best for u lmk the area and I will help u find them because they are everywhere, just jerk pharmacists don't want to order em for ya.

Re: Tina (# 272) Expand Referenced Message

family doctors still rx opiates here on west coast just fewer doctors willing to but can and yes they do their best to refer you out to a specialist so they don't have to worry and deal with it but family Drs can really rx almost anything like er Drs as needed if needed

Re: Tina (# 273) Expand Referenced Message

Tina subutex suboxone buprenorphine are all opiates and opioid. it is just a half antagonist as is methadone just being a full atognist unlike bup but bup is rx for pain and addiction just like methadone. very similar just one is half and one is full but both opiates

Re: Charlene (# 274) Expand Referenced Message

honestly when it comes to methadone it is not even worth it because the clinic aspect and daily doses unless you get an rx for the methadone methadose tablets which would be nice yet risky and a hard and long process which may be made easier with the new laws coming into play for the epidemic it may be easier in the future but unless you can get the tablets of methadone I would say you would be wasting your time money gas and energy on a daily level.

Re: Charlene (# 276) Expand Referenced Message

You are right Charlene, a Dr can write the generic on the rx only, for example Rhodes only, but the pharmacy and pharmacist do not have to honor it or order it. If not available wholesale, they will just say don't have it, check elsewhere. Your Dr can write it but there's almost no point as most people can just call around to find the generic more so on brand name when comes to this type of situation.

Re: Charlene (# 278) Expand Referenced Message

honestly the carisoprodol works much better for pain than pain killers it is quite unique. i guarantee the soma would be so much better than the combo of loritab and baclofin for pain and if the doctor is willing may be cut out both or at least the baclofin for the soma in my experience it has always worked better than pain meds even bup at times just my experience and knowledge. I'm going myself with disability issues Galore doing my best to make it to next day i can relate with your son in age and pain

Re: Charlene (# 278) Expand Referenced Message

Also Charlene I have been told by a few pain management doctors that the only muscle relaxer that really works like it should is carisoprodol. some say Methocarbamol or robaxin may. when hearing this from few pain doctors I was surprised a Dr would even tell me that lol but jist some of my experience and feedback. may be worth asking your sons Dr to get him on carisoprodol and if not at least Robaxin anything else in the muscle relaxor category may do nothing but hope the baclofin is helping again just my experiences shared and knowledge.

Re: Charlene (# 279) Expand Referenced Message

Happy to help always Charlene. and yes to equate to 4 tablets of 8 mg bup to even feel anything you would need a very high if not lethal doses of fentanyl or hydromorohone to even touch your pain after 4 bups a day. the only other way to get relief from full antagonist would be to be off the bio for a long while and any opioid and let your receptors get back to normal which would take months. bup is very strong but the half antagonist part of it takes away that opioid Percocet feeling searched for. or methadone as a full atangnist that works like bup does on the mu receptors

Re: goozer (# 270) Expand Referenced Message

Well see..damn I finally got it. I had to come back to it and read for the 3rd time..and I say my sister has enough polish in her for the whole family, I guess I got a touch of it to..lol. wow thx for all this info. I know it had to take you a good minute to write and explain it to me. What is suprising is that how come when I seen my pain management dr.he shoud have tried to explain it to me..I can see why the percocet 10 did not work now..I mean when I tried my detox plan I was able to take my past sub in the morning and when my husband came home with my script of percocet I was allowed to take at by 4 in the afternoon and the next one when I woke up he allowed me 3 aday. Until I made another appointment begging for a 4th one a day..so even at 4 a day I just couldn't do it. Now I have found my answer...right??.. thx for going out of your way and again helping me out on tip of it this page is about buprenorphine treatment and you still went above and beyond thx friend

Re: goozer (# 270) Expand Referenced Message

So goozer, do you think that's why with me when I tried to detox of subs back in june I could not do it or let's say I gave up just 10 days later..I used my old pain management dr. For help hes still in my area. I went in asked him to place me on percocet 10s x 4 daily. Along with baclofen. I had a real difficult time, obviously sick as q dog could eat hardly sleep. I lost 14lbs in the 10 days. That doctor even bumped my gabapentin up to 800mg x3..we went into his office at my request on day 10 my husband had to just about carry me in . The dr looked at me, then him and say I suggested she go back on subs until she is healthy and can try again .. now my husband says if I could have taken 10 a day I could done it. Percocet 10s to me comparing it it subs is like asprin. Idk was it like you say something to do with my receptors not responding to percocet? Because of buprenorphine being so much of a stronger medacine. Hey I'm just get nosey about what I did or didn't do...I'm happy I got back on bup. Because I could tell the pain in my back did not go away. It's been there the whole time just bup covered the pain.and with this crisis going on it's for sure I'm not going to get the pain medacine i did before because on my first visit the doc said very quietly he could only give 3 a day..it happened to be after 4 or 5 days i called him personally asking can we increase the dosage to 4 10s q day..again very quietly he said ok taped me on the back and i left...so i knew right then and there if i can't live off 4 percocet 10s a day..it might be like pulling strings

Re: Tina (# 272) Expand Referenced Message

Tina, I was asking this because of a different medschat group mentioned..my son goes to pain management since june 2018. We asked the doctor pain management for lortab 10 x3 daily along with muscle relaxers baclofen my son is 26 with disability issues. So he lives at home with us, and complains of pain discomfort. I know it's not a great deal of pain cuz I know pain but took him anyways and had no problem getting what I asked for him..the doc just said ok and out the door in 15 minutes. He just has to go every three months for 15 minutes and we are gone again. I never even took him to his health M.D. only this guy..that's why I thought that statement was strange, like I said he gives me 3 scripts for pain meds. And one year's worth of muscle relaxers (baclofen).
