Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 29)

Updated

I have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:

*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.

I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.

Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.

Re: Goozer (# 554) Expand Referenced Message

Has anyone who have recently made the switch fro the 54 411 to the Rhodes experienced any agitation and numbness of emotion. I’ve been on bup for ahwile and the last 3 years been taking 54 411 since the recent switch about 2 and half months ago I’ve noticed unwanted changes within myself, such as loss of patients, I feel numb and increased agitation. I was just wondering if anyone else has had similar effects or if it’s something I’m going through personally. Thanks in advance

Re: Sinner85 (# 562) Expand Referenced Message

Just some feedback. Me myself have never had one single problem with Rhodes..they are the smoothest ones with great potency...however my last refill I had to settle with the 54s I should've described as settled it could have been worse but the beginning of the month I was just ok and now towards the end of my scripts all the pup strong flavor is starting to get to me.. the last few days I wake up extremely nervous..so boy, oh boy I sure hope my little pharmacy has my Rhodes buprenorphine this month..

I am a newcomer to Subutex and find this thread both entertaining and educational.

I was recently put on Buprenorphine in the hospital to replace 6 x 10/325 Norco per day for several chronic pain problems. I wish I would have stopped to notice what generic was given to me in the hospital because it worked exceptionally well at a very low dose (2 x 2 mgs. per day). Upon my release I was given a prescription which I had the misfortune to fill at Walgreens. I therefore got the dreaded Activas and as many have noted, they suck compared to what I was given in the hospital, which seemed to act as an excellent chronic pain reliever, anxiolytic and anti depressant. I just felt clearer, calmer and more patient than I have in years. I got slightly better pain relief with the Norco, but only for about 1 hour after each dose. I tried splitting the Activas but 2 mgs. per day doesn't work. 4 mgs. daily is fine in my case, although not nearly as good as what I was given in the hospital. I was also pleased to discover that some horrible itching that I had been suffering from for years must have been attributable to the Norco. My doctor was also happy since nobody likes writing for C II medication nowadays and he was trying to ween me down on the Norco anyway.

I finally found a non-chain pharmacy in the DFW TX area with a sympathetic pharmacist who was willing and able to order the Rhodes or Teva if I wished, and another that had the 54 411s in stock. I said to the pharmacist at the first pharmacy "Well, I guess I will just have to suffer for the next three weeks until it's time for a refill." I was surprised to hear him offer to contact my doctor and try to get a new fill of the Rhodes if I turn in my Activas to him for disposal. He actually said "You should not have to suffer because Activa makes substandard drugs." He added that he does it all the time and that many of his customers are people like me who thrive on a particular generic and for whom other generic brands don't work well. He hates Activa as much as I do and said he refuses to stock their meds unless he has no alternative. It was a sad day when they took over Watson. Remember those great yellow Watson Norco? I will post my opinion of the Rhodes when I get them.

BTW Greenstone Alprazolam were made by the same manufacturer as the name brand: Upjohn. I still have some of the brand Xanax around which my insurance covered until the cash price rose to $999 (according to Walgreens) for 120 x .5 mgs. The Greenstone were unsurpassed among generic Alprazolam.

Thank y'all for the education!

Re: Sinner85 (# 562) Expand Referenced Message

rhodes are exponentially stronger than the 54 411. so if not used to the potency taking the same dose as u wud the 54 411 will do this. this is a stronger generic the strongest try taking less than u normally would with the rhodes an this should fade.

Does anyone know where to find the 54 411 in the Cincinnati area / eastern suburbs preferably?? The pharmacies are all switching to those little tiny things for some reason... And I'm not spending all that money for those .... I will just go back to getting a strong opiate painkiller first ...

One of my family members has been on bup since 2005 as well. It clearly helps her. She Switched from 54s 4 months ago to Rhodes b8. This month she will have to settle on 54s due to no stock available. Will she suffer wd?

I was just told by my pharmacist that there is a shortage on two brands of buprenorphine. 54/411’s and probably Rhodes. He said to prepare for the shortages

I have had the pleasure of Rhodes and I must say I that they are top quality is not the sense that the formulation is constant and properly dosed... I currently take 32mgs daily and when I was taking the Hi Tech I would literally have to take 6-8 pills a day to stay stable... The problem is that Hi Tech is being pushed heavily to all the distribution warehouse's in Florida... This month my Pharmacist was unable to acquire the Rhodes but was able to order the 54-411 which is now pushed by Hikma... No issues as of yet but I can't wait for the Rhodes to be available again

Re: Tim (# 570) Expand Referenced Message

Yes they are both on backorder now! I was doing pretty good on rhodes. I'm going through the bull process of call around trying and trying to figure out what crappy other generic brand I'm going to get next week when I fill my script. I'm probably gonna end up just getting the crappy underdosed hi tech brand. I would use the activis but they are full of extra fillers and that orange flavoring. This happens every spring. I've noticed this the past few years.

Just an opinion but I've been on Subutex since 2010 when I switch from Suboxone and I've tried every generic as well as the old name brand and teva. Nothing compares to the name brand or the old Teva generic. The Rhodes Purdue is the best generic available in my opinion right now. It's probably comparable to the old Roxanne generic before they messed with them. Maybe a little better... Gonna suck to have to get a different brand this month.

Yes I have been on Suboxone for about 10 years and now Subutex for past 2 years. I've had pretty much all brands except the sun pharma...I made sure to stick with the westward or as it was Roxanne. They were the best for me. However recently last month I got the Rhodes and I did surprisingly like them better... however this month I got switched back to Westward, lol...omg...crazy. but yes I agree the Rhodes are best at this time. I find the small mom n pop apothecary carry them or can order them without discrimination from the pharmacist that now has the power to not even fill your legal legit script if they deem inappropriate by asking questions on good faith opinions. It's getting to be a big problem. Walmart won't even fill Suboxone in some states...idk but the bottom line is it saved my life after being addicted to heroin and opiates for 9 years straight. If I have to be on it the rest of my life in order to help society and be productive then I must...I was off of it for 2 years when I went to prison and I felt like s*** even after all that time of being clean. If your brain does not re-calibrate the chemical imbalance in that time then I don't believe it ever will. However there is something called ibogaine...that is sold in Europe and China and it supposedly really works to re wire your brain if u will. It is banned in the US , imagine that. What's that tell you.ive heard it really does work along with the kratom. Anyhow I just thought I would chime in...I just got my script filled n got westward ?? but definitely getting back to the Rhodes. I also see a number of you take benzos with your subs...I'm having a hard time finding a Dr. To do both although I have been on them both. I need my klonopin in the morning or my anxiety is sky high!!! If anyone knows of a Dr. In upstate NY that understands this combination is not deadly but keeps the machine well oiled...lol...lmk.. please....thank and may destiny be all.

The mylan brand was really crappy in my opinion. It was like I wasn't taking anything at all. The sun brand is pretty awful as well. Honestly the best one is Rhodes and if you can take a little more the little high tech ones are not bad quality just underdosed. Also the activis brand is decent but is orange flavor for some strange reason but the Teva / acivis Suboxone is not flavored... Wierd! The Roxanne's were pretty good then they were sold to West ward and they changed a little. Now they were sold to hikima and they changed the pills completely so there not good anymore in my opinion. The only ones I would take now are rhodes, activis or hi tech. If I couldn't get those hikima would be next. The others are so bad I would take them again.

Hi,

I've never heard of this Rhodes brand. Where are you located? I'm I. Mass. I have taken the hi tech which sucked, the Roxanne was the best for me. I tried the mylan when Roxanne was backordered and changing to westward pharmaceuticals and I felt a little tired for a couple days but after that I was completely fine.

Hi everyone., still for me the Rhodes are the best. The problem is that I was getting them from a mom n pop shop and for my last three refills they have not gotten them in. They told me to go to another pharmacy down the road from them and they don't take my insurance company Humana so I'd have have to pay cash, and cash is low as always,..so I have been getting hikma brand for now and I'm not going to complain because it could be worse if I had to get any other brands..so in the meantime I have mine filled now from Cvs, my next move will be to try and find some other pharmacy's in my area and see if they could order the Rhodes..I doubt CVS will change the rules just for me, being chain pharmacy's usually always order the same ones...I truly cannot believe that they are still hard to find, being they have been out since oct. 2017.....but they are..again it seems we have to hunt like an animal to get them in our hands..oh not to mention I believe as far as the price goes the pharmacy's pay just around $2 a pill...you'd think they would jump on this. Anyways I'm going to keep trying..good luck everyone

Re: THOR (# 576) Expand Referenced Message

Thx for comment and taking your time to write it to us. You hit everything on the nail..I'm from Florida right in the area they claim the whole epidemic started from. And I have taken the Rhodes to for a good 6 months until one refill they just are having a hard time getting them in. So I had to get the hikma brand and I would complain because all the other brands are not worth even taking..while taking all the others I always found myself short at the end of the month because I had to takes extras..I have been on subutex since 2005 and I to will have to take it till the rest of my life..I know a guy who flew out to these clinics your talking about to rewire your brain. And yep he says it worked and is back to his self again...I wish I could afford to do it. I have read some scary stuff you go through while it doing its magic on you. Oh about the klonopin and xanax, since 2005 starting buprenorphine treatment I to cannot find a doctor to prescribe medication like this to me..I have had more than one doctor because of this or that...it's either me or they will not give..I watch my sons pain management doctor put his pen to paper like oh boy he has to be worried even when doctors just talk about a narcotic fear of being arrested, and you can blame them for that...it seems our insurance company's decide what we are allowed to get and how much...I know if I was a doctor and paid for his student loans and now cannot write what scripts he knows would work. But cannot give. They are the ones who should group up and fight this issue..again thx
