Rezira Side Effects

I have a persistent and nagging cough that has lasted over a month. My family Dr. presribed Rezira for me 2 days ago. I was coughing my brains out and desperately downed the small sample bottle he gave me before I had even made it to the ground floor on the elevator in his building. As I drove home, the cough subsided without a doubt, but I would say within 15-30 minutes of drinking the little bottle (it was one dose per bottle) I felt a really euphoric high. Each time I've taken it since, I've noticed the same "feel good" that it creates. I believe the active ingredient is Codeine, which I've had in a pain reliever like vicodin before and never noticed this effect. Is there a reason that in the cough syrup formula it would cause this feeling, vs. when it's in the Vicodin form? I was really not fit to drive in my mind in hindsight, and while I am walking around "feeling great" for a few hours...my comrehension during this time is nil. I watched a movie last night and couldn't say what the plot was. I guess I am just trying to figure out what in this med has created this reaction in me, and if it's possibly unhealthy.

Well, first Vicodin does not contain Codeine, it contains the narcotic Hydrocodone, coupled with Acetaminophen.

The Rezira contains Hydrocodone and Pseudoephedrine, both of which can cause the high like feeling that you experienced, plus due to the fact that it is a liquid, it's going to hit you much faster, all at once. This is the opposite of swallowing the regular release Vicodin tablets, which take awhile to dissolve in your stomach and for the medication to start entering your blood stream and have an effect.

No, it is not unhealthy, unless you would continue driving, or doing other possibly dangerous activities, while under the influence of it.
