Refilling My Valid Xanax Prescription Early (Page 33)

I only see one doctor and he gives me a 3 month supply of xanax. When I went the last time he wrote me out a prescription but I still had two refills. I had a friend and her husband passed away and I gave her some of mine thinking I would have no problem re-filling the prescription. I had sense enough not to go to the same pharmacy and not to give my insurance information. So I go to this small drug store by my house and I had to fill out paperwork such as dob, name and my DL #. Well they paged me to the front of the store and advised me that it was 7 days to early for them to re-fill. So my question is where can I go to re-fill a prescription that is valid written by the same doctor. I only tried one place, I'm guessing they must have a data base if you try and refill your prescription early (even without your insurance) does anyone have advice on where I can go to get this filled?

Wow, you really buy into that government propaganda don't you? Personally, I'm not so stupid to believe all the bulls*** rules and regulation FOR OUR SAFETY..it's ALWAYS about the money dear. Please learn to think for yourself.

have your doc write the script 3 a day or as needed and they will refill early

You are wrong. Opiates are not the only preparations that are considered "narcotics". I suggest you do your homework before you attack others.

Only OPIATES are NARCOTICS - some 'nurse' you must be. Lets dispense with the literary license people, and call a spade a spade. Un-f'in-believable.

I have 1 refill coming up for Vicodin in 9 days. I have a prescription for another 5 ref fills from same doctor, can I submit the prescription almost at the same time, obviously I would technically be receiving double amount, but I was thinking of taking prescription to anther farmacy, have been worrying about this, also does the prescription expire.

First, I would never share my medication with anyone. It's dangerous, people may react different to different meds. If God forbid they died because it was to strong, or they had breathing problems, you could be charged with this, so don't do it.Secondly, it is illegal and you could get in trouble even with good intentions.I don't believe there is a national data base yet, but it is coming.This is an addictive drug. Since you gave some away you will just have to wait.

Ive been seeing my dr for ten years now and am given 3 2mg bars a day with a refil each time. Over the last few months i have been having more panic attacks and anxiety in general because im ive been unemployed for so long, money is getting rough, and my girlfriend i livr with cannot afford to help for much longer. Because of everything going on i had to make an appointment for this afternoon the other week because i know i am too early for my refill. I havent truly abused the drug since brfore i started seeing my dr but before him i got them from friends (over 10 years ago). I now have an job lined up to start monday and will be added to my girlfrends insurance the first of the year. Im just going to be honest and tell him i took more than i was supposed to but im afraid even if he is ok with it the pharmacy will refuse. I only have enough for 2 more days and wanted to see if anyone had any opinion if being honest with my dr will help. I experienced withdrawal for a day years ago and asa m scared to death i will again.

I was seeing a NP who increased my Benzo scripts over time to an extremely HIGH amount. I AM a VERY anxious person and I've been prescribed benzos for about 10 years with a few gaps due to lack of insurance, etc. ANYWAY, I'm seeing a new Doc (an actual MD) and he's titrating my 2 mg Xanax TID DOWN over the course of a month 1/2 mg a week and keeping me at stasis with my Diazepam (Valium) 10mg tid. Here's the crux: I went to fill the scripts he wrote me and I was worried that the Xanax was extremely early but instead at Walgreens they said I still had a refill (from my old NP) and they filled that instead. SO, I still have my new doc's Rx. Will any pharmacy fill that? Since it's only 2 weeks later and it was for a 30 day supply, I imagine they would cross-reference and deny. I am uninsure, btw. The Walgreens shouldn't have filled ANY Alprazolam Rx in the first place because it was extremely EARLY, same dosage, etc. I just want to get off of such a high dosage but even THIS is making me extremely anxious. I want my new Doc to trust me and I probably should've told them to NOT use the refill I had left over, but the Tech actually encouraged me-- saying "Why fill a NEW script if you already have a refill?"

First and foremost, DON'T share your medication! You gave your friend a controlled narcotic which was prescribed to you, not her.

I JUST GOT IT, IT'S 7 DAYS EARLY, NO ONE WILL FILL 7 DAYS EARLY, BUT MAY REFILL 3 DAYS EARLY.

If they changed anything about your prescription, dosage, strength, ect the pharmacy has to fill it, take it back to them and point out it was changed.

SW, in your case, your doctor needs to write a new prescription for the new dosage, this will show the pharmacy that the dosage was change, so a fill can be authorized earlier.

Yes I have personally been dealing with the same problem....My psychiatrist upped my dosage and when I went to get them filled I was told the same thing...too early. So what do you do because you do get physically addicted to them...ARRGH

Xanax is a Benzodiazepine and a controlled substance, thus prescriptions are tracked by the government and every pharmacy is going to tell you the same thing. It is all computerized and would be illegal for them to fill it early.
