Refilling My Valid Xanax Prescription Early (Page 28)

I only see one doctor and he gives me a 3 month supply of xanax. When I went the last time he wrote me out a prescription but I still had two refills. I had a friend and her husband passed away and I gave her some of mine thinking I would have no problem re-filling the prescription. I had sense enough not to go to the same pharmacy and not to give my insurance information. So I go to this small drug store by my house and I had to fill out paperwork such as dob, name and my DL #. Well they paged me to the front of the store and advised me that it was 7 days to early for them to re-fill. So my question is where can I go to re-fill a prescription that is valid written by the same doctor. I only tried one place, I'm guessing they must have a data base if you try and refill your prescription early (even without your insurance) does anyone have advice on where I can go to get this filled?

Then it might mean it is a state issue. I have had issues like this before. In some states it's OK and then other states it is not. There is a myriad of laws governing medications. I *think* Lunesta is one of those crazy ones. What gets fun is that CVS will not automatically send me LUNESTA. I have to call them each time and I can't do it online (I could at one time). CVS doesn't like it but they do obey the law. What is crazy about this there are at least 3 states (that I know of) involved in my prescription to Lunesta. 1. IL, 2. MO 3. TX. I have talked to all three and they point back to either a Federal law or a State law.

What gets really fun is there is *SOMEONE* either at the PO or someplace else that likes to steal my meds. The year before last I was not getting 50 percent of the medications.
Last year (after I complained to the PO) I was getting 90 percent who is stealing 10 percent of my meds?. The other fun part is that CVS sent out the meds early and I had a huge plastic case for them. I finally cut that off and I ordered the meds. Once in a while I screw up and forget to order, fortunately, none of the meds were super critical. Plus my doctor is understanding about my memory issues. One time it was close on my super critical meds and I was down to my last one and the package showed up.

Xanax is a controlled substance!! if your Doctor knew you were handing them out she may never write you anymore refills. Taking more than prescribed, give them out or losing them are all reason to never getting another script.

Avoid alcohol with any medication and follow the guidelines alcohol is no digested the Alprazolam or xanax as we know them work fast and fast get out of the system, Diazepam however converter in to the liver on ozazepam and medazepam and is little longer active , all NSSR medications are effect the brain chemistry like AXID this make you zombie , amafranil tryptanol all those work to make a person sleep , ecitalopran , aropax , all those work on anyone different. Unless you try no one knows , the fluoxetine works well without side effects , the one known as PROZAC. brain chemistry is complex most doctors no understand it , they prescribe but they never try those medications, unless you try you know , how your body work with them , everyone is different, caution S4 means poison , every medication is poison but we use it like the insulin and some blood pressure medications , what some accept as normal and other not is they affair , all medicines are dangerous including the TNF blockers who cause cancer by lower the immune in case of AS lik EMBREL HUMIRA etc dangerous drugs , they work but in the long run they get you on the operating theatre , xanax have been abused so as Valium ams this benzodiazepine family others use SINEQUAN of Doxepin it is complex affair , doxepin helps for rest in low dose is okay depend on the problem best talk to your doctor he never take any of those but he have statistics

It's not a CS2 (Controlled Substance 2)!
It's a 3 and the "government" lol, is not that picky on CS3's. It's the 2's (OxyContin, Morphine, Fentanyl, Methadone), that they keep track of more like you are referring to.
Lol.. That's a bit exaggerated. You people that reply to these threads need to know your sh@t b4 bellowing out such nonsense. No wonder our word is so messed up..

No it is not illegal and yes it could be filled as long as it doesn't say "do not fill until or after...," which according to this, it obviously did not state such. Get your facts straight please, b4 heeding advice and stating what's legal and illegal when you, yourself do not even know...

I use CVS for my long-term medications. Last year I was having theft of my medications *SOME of the TIME*. I complained to the Post Office and it got better for a year. Now it is starting up again (lost medications) CVS now ships medications (at least to me) that have proof of delivery. That means the Delivery person scanned the box before he/she put it in the mailbox. Well, as I observed several times that they may or may not put it in the mailbox, sometimes they leave it on top where it is plainly visible to everyone. We do not have a high volume of people near our mailboxes. It was tracked down to a fast food delivery guy that was taking the medications.

I'm not sure I ever had any mail order medicine packages or even a box of pills that didn't fit inside my mailbox? They all must meet certain size requirements, you must get a lot of meds. I'd rather use the retail option as it's much cheaper for me.

May I ask WHAT pharmacy these days will fill your Rx as soon as your INSURANCE will pay for them??

My INDEPENDENT pharmacist owned pharmacy used to do that & my INSURANCE would pay for my RX's when they're 3/4 done. (on a 30 day RX..I could get them filled on Day 24)

So I would get all of mine filled on Day 24 so that in case something ever happened I would have a backup.

Well last year they sold out to CVS & it's been a "s*** show" ever since!!

They will NEVER fill them 6 days early (day 24) BUT they told me that any prescription that's not CONTROLLED they could fill them 5 days early. But two of mine ARE controlled & they will fill those on day 28 or 29 depending on the pharmacist...kind of crazy but one of the meds is for my migraines & no 2 months are the same so they never last the whole month, so I'm gonna ask my Dr. if he can write the instructions so that I can get them on Day 27 or 28. Thanks to ALL of the people who bought or stole opiate meds -- OVERDOSED & passed away & the CDC & SEA trying to appease the grieving parents & toughening the laws making an ALREADY tough life of CHRONIC PAIN even MORE difficult. All that's going to do is the addicts will continue to abuse whatever they want & we PAIN patients will keep on "jumping thru those hoops" to TRY & have some semblance of a life. Fun. SMH!!

Sometimes I only get 1 med, that fits inside our mailboxes (remember I get 90 days worth) at each refill. Some of the bottles I get are 7 & 8 inch high, and when I get 90 days worth the plastic envelope gets large.

I would consider going back to the retail pharmacy as you can't be sure if somebody will steal your meds. Pills make noise and these days they let anyone carry mail. I found I pay quite a bit less by not having them mailed, plus they can melt in the 150 degree mailbox in the Sun's heat. Someone told me they are shipped in cold packs now?

It is an addictive drug, plus a street drug. The government monitors this under authority from the HIC only. Ask your doctor, he may give you 0.5, no 2 mg, no 1 mg. Alprazolam is a very addictive drug. If you start you cannot stop. All benzodiazepines are like that. They are work on the lymbic system of the brain, fast acting & fast out. This is the problem, plus many mix them with alcohol which is a deadly combination. Avoid giving this to anyone. If it's for extreme depression, first try Prozac / fluoxetine; it's better with no addictive properties. Ask your doctor.

Yes, they do make a bit of noise, I am 5 floors away from the mailbox so that doesn't help.

I have been using CVS mail order for 18 years. Not once during that time was I ever short on medication. Their call center is H*** but their pharmacy seems, "OK". A couple of times I had to call the pharmacy as the pills change shape/color/size, I was not assured very strongly that they knew what they were talking about, but AFAIK all pills come as advertised.
