Question On How Long Medicaid Covers Suboxone
UpdatedI have been on suboxone for 2 1/2 years now. And it has saved my life beyond words and imagination! I have a life now! I am happy as can be! I always think of what if I have to get off of it, the what if feeling and questions... I just know I would be in a terrible terrible state of mind if I would have to get off of it anytime soon. Maybe later on I would feel better about it BUT not right now. You know that gut feeling just no way! Anyway I have had the same doctor for 2 1/2 years with suboxone. Well my last appointment he decided to tell me that Medicaid only covers suboxone for 3 years!!! He asked if I knew this... I said ummm NOOOO!!! In my head I was like wait what?!!! Where did this come from doctor?? Anyway I live in Utah and I have never heard of this. If anyone knows anything about Medicaid and could give me any advice that would be awesome. Also if I can just call the Medicaid number I could ask them. I also have heard they will cover as long as your going to be on it. So just curious and kind of stressing. Thanks!!

I have been on Subs since 2013 I have Medicare
And Medicaid and mine was approved til 2020
So not sure where that came in or when. Call insurance and ask
It can vary, depending on the specifics of your treatment, and your states own regulations.
You can learn more Medicaid & Suboxone Information Here
However, it doesn't hurt to call and ask them for specific details on it.
The FDA warns that Suboxone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Is there anything else I can help with?
