Qualitest Hydrocodone 10/325 - New Prescription Is Different And...

Updated

I have been prescribed Qualitest yellow 10/325 Norco for over a year now for my Fibromyalgia and only take one pill at night which has helped my pain level tremendously. Qualitest is the only manufacturer that has worked for me as I have tried a few others they just upset my stomach and give me headaches. I just recently picked up my new prescription and something is VERY wrong with this new prescription. Normally I don't have any side effects but this batch, my stomach hurts when I take them and they just give me a massive headache. I have absolutely no pain relief like I always have in the past. I'm thinking they may have changed the inactive ingredients. Does anyone have an ideas on how to find out if they have changed something in their formulation? I am not crazy here, something is definitely different....Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello, Mary! How are you?

It is always possible for a medication to stop working as well for us, once our body builds up a tolerance to it, so that could explain your problem. The NIH has several detailed articles available covering tolerance. The time frame varies from person to person, but sooner or later, most people do experience it.

Thus, it may be that you need to speak to your doctor about trying a different medication.

The FDA warns that opiates carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?

You are absolutely correct! The YELLOW ARE THE BEST. The WHITE HYdrocodone are USELESS! There's a scam going on! Because the PALE YELLOW is so close in color to the WHITE JUNK, we don't notice it TIL we're home, & YOU CANT RETURN THEM!!

Hi Mary,

All pain medications have been changed to prevent the euphoric feeling so addicting to most that take it. The nationwide problem of opiates is at epidemic proportions. The drug manufacturers have been trying different binders or fillers to prevent street sales of pain-killers. They have also added different ingredients to hopefully prevent additional addiction to these type of drugs, discouraging abusing pain meds. The end result being those who truly need pain relief will be discouraged and frustrated. The newer pain medication such as Vicodin, Percocets, Hydrocodone, Norcos, etc. Have been drastically changed. They are not as effective for relieving pain. Anyone who has taken any of these types of pain relievers for more than 3 years, have noticed. Yeah, you may develop a tolerance, to some degree, but most people are not ignorant. There is a huge difference. It's unfortunate to those who are sincere, but our young people nationwide are overdosing on pain-killers at an alarming rate!! Now that our pain-killers are ineffective to most, our addicts are now using illicit drugs at a staggering rate, and dying from overdoses even worst than pain meds!!! What is the answer? How can we overcome this horrific tragedy? For anyone who reads this, at least you'll understand and know why your pain-medication is different. And to make matters more serious, our President, Donald Trump has declared a national crisis on opiate addiction in our country. Lets just hope he doesn't tell North Korea!
