Quadriderm For Kid Under 7

Can I used quadriderm on the skin of my 7 years old child the dermatologist says she has psoriasis n if I can fir haow long n how many times a day? Super thanks for yr answers

You can view the dosing guidelines for this cream listed below:

"Dosage: A thin film of Quadriderm should be applied to cover completely the affected area 2-3 times daily.

Frequency of application should be determined according to severity of the condition.

Duration of therapy varies depending upon the extent and location of disease and patient response. In cases of tinea pedis, longer therapy (2-4 weeks) may be necessary. However, if clinical improvement is not achieved by 3-4 weeks, diagnosis should be reviewed."


Regarding the use of Quadriderm in children (age is not specified, as everyone is different biologically):

"Use in children: Pediatric patients may demonstrate greater susceptibility to topical corticosteroid-induced hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression and to exogenous corticosteroid effects than mature patients because of greater absorption due to large skin surface area to body weight ratio.

HPA axis suppression, Cushing's syndrome, linear growth retardation, delayed weight gain and intracranial hypertension have been reported in children receiving topical corticosteroids. Manifestations of adrenal suppression in children include low plasma cortisol levels and absence of response to ACTH stimulation. Manifestations of intracranial hypertension include bulging fontanelle, headaches, and bilateral papilledema."

To sum that up, it can be used in children, however children are more susceptible to experiencing any possible side effects that this drug could cause. Because of this, It would be vital to ensure proper dosing and administration is adhered to.
