hI hOPEFULLY SOMEONE WILL ANSWER PROMPLY AS MY APPT IS TOMARROW.
AFTER 3 YRS ON SUB IVE HAD ENOUGH AND AM GOING ONTO METHODONE.
I KNOW HOW IT GOES FROM AN OPIATE TO SUB BUT HOW DOES IT WORK GOING FROM SUB ONTO METHODONE

Good for you that's great! I been battling drugs for years every since I came home with injuries from the military and they had me on opiates for years

I dont know much about sub, but do about methadeath. Been on it since '88, really. One thing I have become good at is gettin off painlessly.

Here is how I did it, a few times over. Gotta be ready and have the willpower, not something a doc would recommend but works well.

With Methedone, don't matter 100mg or 1mg, still just as ill, really. However, high dose and other opiates don't do s***, low and they do.

I stopped at a low dose, got sick, very sick, planned ahead and stocked vicodin, percs, norcos, etc.

1st day, 2 vics morning, 1 later, 1 to sleep. stomach still screwed but the other BS was gone like creepy crawlys, leg pain, anxiety, wanna jump off a building anxiety. I was quite functional. Tapered it down and cut Vics in 1/2 a few days later. 2nd week, switched to percs, cut 1 into 3 pieces and I felt fine, by 3rd week my stomach was fine and I knew the methedone was out. switched back to vics, 1/2 morning, 1/2 aftenoon and 1/2 night. At 4 weeks I took my last 1/2 in morning.

Took valerian to help sleep, but not really an issue, after 20+ years on methedone I felt almost no withdrawl by switching to other opiates then stopping those. Really.

Everyone is different, but getting the methedone out is priority, kicking a 1.5 vicodin a day habit aint s*** and the vicodin removes most of the major symptoms. The only way to do it is to not get high, take only enough to feel normal. By doing this I have missed no sleep and not missed a beat at work, my legs don't hurt and I did not want to kill anyone... BTW, if runny eyes and sniffles get ya take a cold pill. I did not have to. I am now 1.5 months free of methedone and a week free of any opiates WITHOUT withdrawl symptoms other than some stomach issues in the first week and no eating for the first week... but through that first week, I felt fine in every other way.

Yes, I am also hoping you got the answers you needed from your doctor, or clinic.

Unfortunately, I don't have any information on switching from Suboxone to Methadone, or what the proper procedure is. Most of the questions we receive are in regards to switching from other drugs to Suboxone, since it allows you to become completely drug free, where Methadone usually doesn't.

If you did get the information, could you please post back with some details?
