oval and yellow ## Did you possibly mean Protonix? It contains the active ingredient Pantoprazole, it is used to help reduce the amount of acid produced by your stomach to treat, or prevent, conditions such as heart burn, gastritis, ulcers, and heart burn. Can you please post back and clarify?

I have been on the name brand of Protonix since 2000 and it has worked great. My problem started when the generic became available and my insurance company would no longer cover the brand name. The generic medication didn't work at all. I thought it was me, that I became resistant to it. But after talking to the Pfizer nurse (their US Drug Safety Unit) I was told there are bad generic versions of Protonix on the market. I was able to get my insurance company to cover the brand name up until last September 2016. Now they refuse to cover it. There are approximately 17 different generic manufacturers I found on the internet. Has anybody had a generic version of protonix that worked as well as the name brand one? I am puzzled and very upset because i was dismissed from the Pain clinic i go to because my urine test came back positive for THC. I take Protonix, and it says on their website that it can cause a false positive. ## my husband tested positive for marijuana thru mouth swab he currently takes 40 mg protonix prescribed for him he was accused of revoking probation and is now incarserated for this

Hi, I'm Curious About Protonix. Ive Been On It For 10 Years Now... Was on it to heal an ulcer in my stomach. I've continued to take them after the 8 week course because it got rid of my very severe heartburn. Is this safe? I only take one early each morning - I NEVER have any heartburn or affects, so I think...any ideas? ## Have you consulted your doctor? These have only been studied for short-term use, from 8 to 16 weeks, to treat or prevent condition such as ulcers, heartburn, GERD and gastritis. I am allergic to Yellow #5 which is used to enhance the appearance of products (mainly food) and causes me to have migraines. Is Yellow 5 in Protonix? I took one at midnight and got an occular migraine at 8:45 this morning. I tried to Google it but got nowhere. Thank you. ## No, there isn't any listed in the inactive ingredients for the name brand. They are listed as being: calcium stearate, crospovidone, hypromellose, iron oxide, mannitol, methacrylic acid copolymer, polysorbate 80, povidone, propylene glycol, sodium carbonate, sodium lauryl sulfate, titanium dioxide and triethyl citrate. I have read that pantoprazole sodium can cause a false positive for thc in urine samples. Will it do the same for hair follicle tests also? I have an interview in two days and am sorta worried it will also show the same false positive for a hair sample. Please help me out.

I have had 2 panic attack episodes after taking prescription drugs. The first was after taking the second pill of erythromyacin and the most recent was after taking protonix. My anxiety lasts for very long periods of time. I have some pills they are football shaped and are light beige they say 40 in black on one side but have no other markings. What are they please? ## I'm sorry, but I can't find a listing in any of our resources for a pill that meets this description and has just the number 40 on it. Where was it found/obtained? Do you have any other information on it? If there is nothing else to the imprint, this leads me to believe that it is, more than likely, something available over the counter. However, there is also a small chance that it might be a foreign medication. Does anyone recognize this tablet? ## i have them too, but they are supposed to be my refill of Protonix. i have been taking wockha protonix 40 for a number of years. I just picked up my prescription and the pills look a darker than usual....they say w434 on them....i have been having stomach problems since i started on the latest batch of pills. has wockha made any changes? ## HI, Cindy! Sorry about the problem you're having. I am not aware of any changes having been made to them and nothing is listed in the databases at this time. But the issue might really be that your body has just gotten used to them, so they are no longer working as well for you. Why have you been on them for so long? These are usually just used for short-term treatment, since there are risks associated with long-term use, such as hip fractures.

Everytime I take one I get a pain in my left kidney which worries me. ## This is to the person who gets a pain in her left kidney when she takes a protonix pill. I can relate to that. I was prescribed 2 pills a day for the last 5 years or so until 2 wks. ago and the doctor told me to only take 1 pill from now on because it will wreck your kidneys. My kidneys are already wrecked. ## Wow, i have been having kidney pain and it never occurred to me it could be from the Protonix!

My new prescription of Pantoprazol Sod has a different number imprinted on the yellow oval tablet. Instead of P40 it is MP9. My mother has a lot of pill that she does not remember what they are for. I have a couple to look up. ## The pill name I am looking for it is a pink round with E730 on one side and 20 on the other. ## Protonix is for Gastro-Intestinal problems ( ulcers, acid reflux, and the like) If you have questions, ask her doctor. I take it for my esophagus, without it..... I'm in BIG trouble. Veins rupture and I bleed into my stomach. A little more serious than heartburn so be careful not to change anything without consulting her doctor. A terrific source of info is her pharmacist, they're more help than the doctors sometimes

small, oval, yellow, pill, inscribed with P 20, no other known information ## This is an ant-acid medication called Protonix 20mg. It is used for reflux, GERDS, Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome. Side effects include nausea, headache, diarrhea, among others.
