what is the difference between PROPRANOLOL hcl sa and hcl ## Hello, Pat! How are you? The SA stands for sustained action, which designates it as being a time released formulation of the medication, if the other one doesn't have something like that listed, such as SA, XR, CR, SR or etc. then it is just a regular release formulation and may not work as well. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi, I had Brain Zaps which stopped immediately after taking Propranolol 40 mg. When I stopped Propranolol they returned. Accidently I donated blood for a patient and started feeling better. I removed 7 pints of blood therapeutically (disposed) in intervals. I feel much better now. Hot glass of milk and coconut water everyday helps me rebuild my body. My brain zaps have stopped 99% after suffering for 2 years. If the Brain tremors (zaps) don't stop permanently can Dialysis help or should I remove more blood? ## Hello, Champtz! How are you? Exactly what symptoms are you referring to as brain zaps/tremors? There is no actual medical condition under that name, so I can't provide you with any information, without knowing more details. Thanks!

Right now I am taking IC butal-acet-caff, propranolol, gabapentanin, and neproxalin but it doesn't help me. Can you please tell me the right treatment for sinus and migraine headache. Thanks.... ## Hello, Chandra! How are you doing? Sorry that you've been suffering such bad headaches. However, there really isn't any 'right' treatment. It's really a matter of trial and error to find out what works for you to relieve your pain and misery. Has your doctor ever had you try the narcotic Dilaudid? It's actually the first line choice in most ERs if someone presents with a severe migraine. This is a narcotic analgesic, ...

I was recently prescribed propranolol, 10 mg, as needed for performance anxiety. Took it before a presentation I had to give two nights ago and it helped. The performance went really well. The next day, something strange happened. I began having a panic attack in a restaurant. (I had one full-blown panic attack about 9 years ago and one near panic attack about 4 years ago, and these were both while I was having other significant issues in my life. Currently, I am in a very good place in life and have not had any problems with anxiety for quite a while, over 3 yrs). Anyways, this was unfortunately not the end of it. I happened to have the propranolol on me and took one on my way home in the car. It helped, but the anxiety resurfaced that evening. Next day (today), I had about 3 or 4 near...

Please let me know if propranol works how much you take and how long it takes ## Hi Theresa, According to nih.gov, Propranolol is used to treat high blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms, heart disease, pheochromocytoma, and/or certain types of tremor. It can also be used to prevent chest pain and migraine headaches. However it is not used at all for anxiety... let alone severe cases of it. You may want to sit down and have a talk with the doctor who prescribed this to you if you were falsely led to believe that it was even for anxiety in the first place. Sounds like there could've been some sort of mix up with the prescriptions perhaps... You can learn more about this drug on the page for Propranolol Details Are you taking this medication legitimately?

I have been prescribed 40 mg of Propranolol 2x a day plus one multivitamin a day, I have hyperthyroidism and anemia. I was wondering if I can take 1 Capsule of Estroven nighttime before bed. ## Hello, Lilymae! How are you? As far as I know, it's safe with the Propranolol, I was able to take it with other beta blockers, after checking with my doctor. However, with your medical conditions, the thyroid issue and the anemia, I'm not sure and think you should check in with your doctor, before taking it, just to be safe. Do you take a medication for your thyroid condition?

Hi I'm 21 year old mum and from cambridge. I started the anti-biotics metronidazole 400g and doxycycline 100g 6days ago because my doctor thinks I've got some sort of infection after an examination. I have been taking metoprol for about 9 months. Ever since I started on this drug my toes at night tingle, feel numb, and when I get up to use the bathroom, my toes look blueish purple. I told the cardiologist, and he said, I could have the choice of tingly, blue toes, or have the pvc's. I am on 25 mg, twice per day. ## Hi, Carrol! Sorry about the problem that you're having. Issues like that are typical of beta blocker medications. However, I really don't like when doctors say that type of thing to people, it makes it seem like this is the only medication you can try to treat your PVCs and that is not true. While there is a chance that another one may cause the same thing, there is also a chance that it won't, so they are usually worth trying, unless there is some specif...

How do I take control when Propolol causes irregular heart beat, dizziness, very low diastolic Bp and slow pulse and your MD refuses to take you off the med and you don't want to have a heart attact going off it? ## Hi, Ruth! If the Propranolol is causing you that many problems and your doctor won't help, then I have to say that it's time to get a new doctor. You aren't obligated to keep seeing him anymore than he is obligated to keep seeing you. You are free to leave at any time. You don't even have to tell him ahead of time, you can keep him on the back burner, so you still have this medication for now, while you start looking for another doctor. If you find one, then you can have your records transferred. Is there anything else I can help with?
