Prolia Side Effects (Page 85) (Top voted first)

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

I know that Fosamax has side effects but as for Prolia, I have experienced none, I have been on this drug 2 years now. I honestly am having a hard time because I haven't been able to get it. I have a deep wound on my shin that is having trouble healing, my rheumatoid doctor thought it was best to postpone the injection until I heal. Now that the benefits of having this injection have worn off, I am back to the constant pain from old fractures, its harder to move and just getting through everyday living activities is hard for me. I hate to say I am dependent, but, I would love to see it remain available to those who want it.

I am not sure who told you it remains in the system for 6 months BUT they were wrong !!! I do not know about your son's condition but I think most of here are for osteoporsis. I worked in a DR's office so I know very well to read patient info on new meds BUT also trusted my Rheumo doc and nephrologist. For just this reason I am looking for new Rheumo doc. I won't be a guinea pig ever again !!! I am not interested in sueing, but I do hope I can help prevent 1 person from going thru the hell N back I have been thru. Congrats to you and your son that this drug has helped.

My dentist told me hyperbariatic chamber was ONLY thing to help me with terrible symptoms . Not like he had any reason to lie and he was VERY knowlegable about prolia . I learned more from him than the doc that gave it to me . Unfortunately after I had started shots . If I had the 1200 cash for 1 hour to be in it , I would have . GOOD LUCK

I have had two injections of Prolia. Now feel a achy all the time. Plus constantly hungry. I was probably given the same dose as well and weigh in the low 80's. Not too much weight gain yet, but I think it is due to bone loss as my size is bigger. Have always had constipation problems but now definitely worse. Should I take a third shot as scheduled? HELP PLEASE!

Were you diagnosed with necrosis of the jaw after just PROLIA ? Because RECLAST can do the same damage ! Seems like we are all guina pigs for all the big pharmaceutical companies !!! Being a nurse, I have tried many of the meds I prescribe to others, therefore I know what the patient would be feeling. However in this new age of meds, there are just some I would never take !! My problem is that now I am due for another round of RECLAST,(haven't had any in the past 4 years). My doctor doesn't know what to give me, she feels nothing is safe. And she thinks she's just reaching by using RECLAST again w/me. So we'll see what happens next. The drug companies do not have long enough trials of anything used for osteoporosis, they present the doctor with statistics, and only after the doctor uses these meds, dthey find out all the side effects-and then it is too damn late, b/c they can't take it out !!! I feel sorry for all who have had symptoms, as I myself suffer. But I have so many things wrong, I really don't know what to blame things on anymore. Good Luck to all !

I had Fosamax for 4 years, Reclast for 2 and Prolia for two. I am not sure when I became aware of the side effects. At this moment, I don't want to take any more meds. This is very frustrating

Dad is developing blisters! Blood blisters on the back of his hand, on his cheek and on his shin! NEVER had blisters before and certainly never in these places. Horrible Prolia. I am just sick about my dad. Please see my previous 2 posts. Someone please help!

Sir , I had lower back pain and explosive diarrhea before injection . It turned out to be Cauda Equina , a rare disease . Because I waited so long to see doc for it I made things worse for myself . Please be sure her family doc is aware of this , may not be prolia related . Its been 15 months now since my last injection and finally feel like myself again. Prayers for your wife !!!

Barb: Would a DEXA scan be your answer? Then the doctors can tell if you had bone density improvement. I am sorry for your pain. Have you contacted the FDA?

Oh Lala, I am so sorry to hear that and all of your problems from Prolia. Mine seem so minor. I hope they find an answer for you.

I get one once a year and so far I have had minimal improvement. I don't think It's worth taking as I am still in the rehab 8 weeks now and about 6 more to go.

once prolia is in your system, there is no way to remove it DO NOT TKE THIS DRUG AGAIN !!!

Well , you would think I learned my lesson with the first cancer drug i took, depo provera, after breaking both arms simultaneously from a forward fall, i was told cancer drugs deplete your bones of everything and make them brittle, i already have osteogenesis inperfecta. Now , on prolia, finding out just recently it is also a cancer drug, i have fell again breaking my entire right side, crushing my elbow into dust on the cement and breaking my leg in 3 places. No more drugs for me I will take my chances.

I know that this is a terrible lethal drug. My side effects continue but are being managed with Prednisone which has its own set of side effects. I will keep you in my prayers.
