Prolia Side Effects (Page 81) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
I am 46, my t-score went from -2.5 to -4.8, so started prolia 2 weeks ago, first 6days a lot of hair loss not so bad now but losing quantity daily pain in my arms hips back but tolerable knowing I need this treatment, i cannot exercise with pain, I was like this before prolia.. Is there anyone who feels it's working for them? I've been on fosamax 5years but osteoporosis worsened, I take 2000mg vitamin D daily..
It is irrelevant that PROLIA is injected (not infused). What's important is that this drug is extremely dangerous with horrid side effects that can destroy human health and turn life into a misery for a very long time. I received my first PROLIA injection on May 24, 2013. Now, almost 2 month later, I continue expriencing terrible side effects that I posted in other subject-related conversations on this website. To sum it up, so far ongoing sleepless nights due to aches and pains in bones and muscles throughout my body, blisters on my legs and tummy that take long time to heal, increased swetting, urinary tract infection, feeling tired all the time and frustrated with this condition that I was put in by the doctor that didn't even mention to me a possibility of any side effects. I'd be interested to hear from anybody who knows for sure as to how long a single PROLIA injection remains active in human's body? Could this drug cause an irreversible damage to human health by attacking immune system?
I have posted several times about my prolia side effects and want to know if anyone out there has heard of any lawsuits pending? It has been almost a year since my last shot and I'm still experiencing some of the side effects and I'm begining to think it will never get out of my system.... thanks Pam
I took reclast and felt flu like symptoms so my dr switched me to prolia. I have has no side effects do far. I have had one shot 6 months ago
it's not just women suffering now from this stuff, i was diagnoed with osteoporosis at 34, have gone through basically all the drugs allowed on the NHS in britain, and also have "specialists" with very little interest in me or my problems.
so at age 51 i was "allowed" to have this -it's only allowed in britain for women, so the doctor had to get written clearance...wish he hadn't... alll the same side effects, sweats & chills, lack of appetite,/nausea, incredible pain in joints - especially when in bed at the end of the day. it can take an hour or more before i can calm the pain down enough to sleep, even on 14 pain killers a day, and muscle relaxants, hands and feet are the worst, and often in the day a sudden rush of pain, sometime a pulling feeling, making it impossible to do many daily tasks.
sometime it like a cramp but you can't massage it away., often i have a feeling that a bone somewhere is broken. hips and knees have hurt since childhood, but never like this. i used to be able to hide my limp, now i'm happy to walk without falling over, even typing this is killing my wrists, it is just ridiculous!.
and a week ago i started getting a burning feeling in the arch of the foot, like someone putting out a cigarette, this comes and goes regardless if i am sitting, walking, sleeping- wakes me up through the night - that's one side effect i haven't seen here, anyone else have this problem
You sound like you have develpoed "neuropathy" in hands & feet. (That's nerve damage) It is in allof us (the med) now, so we just have to stop having the other doses. Good Luck
I'm 7 weeks over my first injection & feeling much better, little bone pain but feeling positive..
My doctor ( bone specialist ) just prescribed Prolia 60mg to me, I have a compression fracture of my T12 vertebrae which was the result of an accident in May 2013. He said the Prolia would help strengthen my bones, but reading all these reviews this drug terrifies me, I still have some pain in my back, but to endure what these women are going through, I don't think I should allow this poison in my body. I feel terrible for all of you that are suffering and pray you will get better.
I Think that is a wise choice on your part. It seems we all have had bad effects from this med.Have your MD "find" something else for you !!! Good Luck !
The last Subscriber was fortunate that they even told them that Prolia was the cause. When my Husband and/or ER called, they said it was not. Decided I was having a "stroke"! Wanted to send me to downtown Med. Center. I refused knowing it was not. No one has admitted that Prolia was the culprit. It is been 5 months and I am still in all kinds of pain. Seems to attack different things on random basis and attack your previously weakened areas. Too bad there is no "antidote"!
Has your doctor considered Forteo? After 2 injections of Prolia I found I had stress fractures of the right hip. I am now on Forteo (to build bone) to try to correct the mess Prolia made of my body.
I have been on PROLIA injections for one year and one half. My symptoms are
such as yours... Muscle pain in legs ,arms and some other body parts. Once I experienced jawbone pain but it dissipated soon since I knew it was part of some side effects , I did not visit our dentist . I am so pleased though to follow my endocrinologist' advice that this PROLIA treatment outweight the consequences otherwise. My bone density cannot be tested accurately, since I have had many joint replacements , so PROLIA is good for another year or so, meaning that we are certain of some interference of bone deteriation not happening. So hang in there friend,it's worth the occasional body pain that we are experiencing... Best to you
I am a qualraplegic injured in 1974 and permanently confined to a wheelchair. I am 57 years old and have been prescribed Prolia injection. After reading the pharmacists info sheet and the side effects, I am very reluctant to take it. UTI is a side effect and I have an indwelling catheter so I am very concerned about the possible side effects. Skin blisters are also sited as a possible side and pressure sores are also something that I need to be very careful to avoid.
Are there any other quads out there with indwelling catheters that have had this inejection and would you be willing to share your experience with the drug?
Nervous about Prolia ...

Had Prolia shot in may 2013 and am still trying to recover. Nurse gave shot in muscle of arm and it has swollen andhad fluid in joint. Am having to go to therapy to try to get fluid worked out. Will not get it again. Neck and shoulder pain. Instructions says to give just under skin. For you still taking be on guard shot is given right.
Could you share what therapy you had to assist you, please? Had same issues!
Thanks!
I have also had the Prolia shot 3 months ago and will never have another. I didn't realize until I read some of these messages about Prolia that I have some of the same symptoms. The dry scalp, bladder infection, and now I have this pain in back of my right ear that is like a stabbing pain. I have had it for 3 wks and now it is moving up the side of my head and I now believe that it could be caused form the Prolia shot. I actually went to the ER a week ago, I thought I might have a brain
tumor or a stroke. They are sending me to a neurologist, my first visit is 2 wks away
and I hope they can give me an answer. Not until I started reading these messages did I even think about the Prolia. This is a stabbing pain just behind my right ear, it only last for about 3 seconds but comes very often. I'm 80 yrs old, have always been in good shape, lots of energy, exercise , and feel blessed with good health until now. Could it be the Prolia? Love to hear from someone that has had the
same problem.
Besure to tell Neurologist about the Prolia and have him document it, call your MD who prescribed th Prolia
and lastly report your symptoms to your insurance and FDA!
Might want to check with Opthomologist. Might not be Prolia, might be Retina problem that you do not want to ignore!
