I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

I gave terrible GERD and reflux from my Prolia.mayo clinic suggest
RANITIDINE- it doesn't work against calcium .... I was on Dexilant but was taken
"Ranitidine is in a group of drugs called histamine-2 blockers. Ranitidine works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces. Ranitidine is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the stomach and intestines. It also treats conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

This helps me- not as good as Dexalsnt but it works-

I had my second Prolia shot the first of june and a week later started with a rash. Thought it was from plants. Got a shot of Benadryl helped for 4 days and then started with hives and now I am cover with them. Had 3 steroid shots can't have more. Did a another pack of pills. stopped and came back soon as they were gone. Now the allergist wants to do test for allergy, never had a allergy to anything. Have been reading the side affects of Prolia and I have many. The hives are in my face now, which scares me. I am covered with them from head to toe. Going to see the Dr that gave the shot and I am not taking it again. Hopefully there is something that they can give me to take the hives away, I have until Dec to go. So scared!

I had itching and hives- of all my side effects from Prolia, the allergic reaction to it was the only symptom doctors really cared about . Is it getting worse? Sounds like you are very allergic to Prolia...please see specialists that you need! My steroids for terrible respiratory infection were halted due to Prolia issues about calcium depletion...
Crazy...

Jan~unfortunately Prednisone is the only thing in this world that fights that Prolia rash. Is that the steroid you were on before? Pood

@Skittie~yes, Golden Doodles are expensive and top that off with grooming charges as the Poodle hair is like ours and keeps growing and growing and growing. August now so soon!! You will get through this horrid nightmare. It's a sin that Doctors do this to us and leave us out on the clothesline to dry~Hugs~Pood

Skittle~also Celiac people have ridged fingernails going across the nail, not up and down. When I was on Prolia and off of gluten I had fabulous finger nails. Only decent thing I can say about that poison. I thought it was genetic as Mom had them too and maybe in the end it was and she just never really got sick from it and mine was far from what I would call 'normal' since the food was coming out both ends at the same time. She had been to a dermatologist and he didn't think it was anything bad. Pood

Every month or so I like to post these phone numbers so they will be on the front the this blog.

FDA 1-888-463-6332

Doctors are not required to report negative side effects. Report your side effects.

Amgen 1-800-772-6436

Keep reporting negative side effects. It seems like the FDA reviews complaints every six months and updates warnings if necessary.

I was in training for a run/walk marathon and then got the shot. within 2 days I could no longer run or stay up on my feet for any marathon. I am wearing all my clothes in August and sleeping under quilts because I am so cold.
I had the shot a year and a half ago, not sure when the symptoms will completely go away but doctor told me no one else has ever complained about this Prolia drug....He called me for 3 weeks to get the 2nd shot, I just smile and hang up. No way.....

Its pretty much over now, but I itched terribly the whole year after the Prolia shot. I really thought I had body lice or fleas or some sort of creature living under my skin, you could see the little roads under my skin where I scratched so hard. When I told the doctor that the Fosomax I used to take did the same thing, he said that no one else has complained about itching and that it wasn't even a symptom listed on the web site. I don't know how much the doctor makes per shot, but my doc was almost begging me to please just try 3 years of shots.

Thanks Pood, after my rheumy visits where he flipflopped his views from asking if I was going to go surgery for parathyroid to your not primary the second time, the acceptance of pharmacy dollars etc. I'm done. Also no resound to my second high 24 hr urine calcium. Right now I'm doing nothing for O. Too many other things going on. I doubt those docs can help me, none of them have helped me with the digestive issues. Just refer me to gi to doc who refer to endo is etc my pump rep gave me some tips. Most have no clue how to gel me it seems.

Im a little better the past 3/4 days but Bg is too high most of the time. Yes golden doodles are too expensive for me lol. Think I will stick with my siamese Babyboy and maybe rescue a doggie eventually. I saw a gorgeous Australian shepherd mix at pet smart today with her person she was soooo sweet and beautiful. Very smart. Wish I could have one her syblings. They all came from Texas. Her name is Bella. I knew she as special because she looks at me as soon as I walked in the door and told me to come say hi.

I have vertical ridges on one of my big toenails and one was crumbly without fungus.y endoscopy said I have mild chronic inflammation in my stomach I think. The mucus in the duodenum was ok so it is net for celiac. I don't trust it since I was gluten light got so long so I'm sticking with avoiding all cross contamination. It seems to be helping me.

Prolia shot was January 26,2016...almost 8 months post Prolia and still have all my side effects, though some are a bit better... I tend to cycle through my side effects, loose teeth, weak hands, leg cramps, bone pain, dry eyes and mouth and lady parts... Gerd, headache, fatigue, diareah, insomnia, constipation, more diareah...uti, acid reflux, nausea, upper respiratory infection, chronic cough...

So,

I saw an advertisement on CNN for a tens- type unit called QUELL... It was supposed to help with chronic pain in the myscles and bones...$249.00 plus a 60 day gaurantee... I'm desperate for some relief so I decided to try it... They claim 81% of people trying it get relief for their chronic pain... And I seem to be one of those lucky people... It's the most pain free I have been in the last 6 months...

Just wanted to let you all know- relief has been long in coming... Maybe it could work for you?

It's like a tens unit, but is not- I have had tens units in the past.

I have used the QUELL for two weeks now and my feet are no longer curled into cramps each morning. My leg calf cramps have decreased... I'm Waiting now for relief in my ribs, hands, hips- and more... I still have much discomfort but the improvement in pain has been a gift... I hope I continue to feel a bit better daily with my quell- as I patiently wait for the Prolia to leave my system...

That's great Jan. I saw Quell advertised and I was thinking of trying it. Is it covered by ins at all? I've had chronic pain for years and maybe it will help the other issues too.

Pood, celiac is strange because some people become violently ill and others had no symptoms at all with gluten exposure but they do get damage too. My pump rep said even if I'm not celiac it could still be a gluten sensitivity which is real and which is affecting my digesting and everything else. I would think celiac caused by prolia would be different.

Quell is not covered by insurance because Quelk wanted it to not require an RX or doctor appointment. From a car accident several years ago I had a tens unit covered by insurance- my out of picket was $10 a month for electrodes and I paid $175 out of picket for the unit. It brought some relief but only to targeted areas. The quell works on the nerve in one calf that disrupts pain in the rest of your body. I am still amazed at my pain relief...

Thanks Jan, I'm definitely going to try it when I can get one.. I have lots of pain and it's hard for me to take painkillers now with my digestive and diabetes issues. I hope it works for me too.

I have a tens unit too.. I think my insurance paid for a lot of it and I get the site pads cheaply at amazon. I don't change them very often. It does help me a lot but I can't walk around with it everywhere although I did used to wear it on the train after my first injury. Now with all the disc issues and everything I hope this will help me too.

@Skitty~it looks like it is making itself known to me again. Why? I don't have a clue. He also did a TSH test which will help tell me about the hair loss. I've been very ill for a month so decided to go GF today and I feel fine. Apparently, that which Prolia causes never really totally goes away....it lingers in us for an opportunistic visit. Isn't that a lovely thought for the remainder of our readers. I wonder how long I have to stay GF this time. Totally ticked off~Pood
