Prolia Side Effects (Page 64)

Updated

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Thank you Pood for giving all us your knowledge and help, it is so great to come here and have people understand what we are going through. Nobody knows unless they have been there. Love, Sheri

Hi Sher~ Sorry for the long wait in welcoming you to our survivors' group. When my mind saw your name it thought it saw Sheri. Please read my post 1256 regarding immunoglobulins. I'm very concerned about you getting a bag of plasma. If all are low, and it depends on how low is low, the plasma will kill a person. If they all are a little low that means you have been having a lot of infections and your immune system is compromised. This is true and it is a HUGE fault with Prolia. Instead of going with plasma, what I would have rather have had were T-cells and T-cell helpers as they are the ones Prolia kills. If we can keep our T cell numbers up we won't have infections. Since your post proves what I have been advocating here is that Prolia deletes a lot of our immune system which are made up of the immunoglobulins, T-cells and T-cell helpers. Hopefully your IgA was totally not low as in 20. Did the Dr. do Subclasses of these or just the basic 5. Did you get a copy of your test results? I did. Others here have had auto-immune diseases caused by Prolia including me. We had a couple of others where bone building goes wild and deposits bone where it should not be like on noses, eye sockets. I don't know if this is sufficient for a suit or not. It seems as if lawyers are interested in ONJ, broken femur and large medical expenses one can always look at lawyers and settlements and I also know a guy in NC with the name of Lamb. I assume they attorneys would accept a family of a deceased from Prolia. Yes, Skittie has tracked down that Prolia has killed between 4-5000 people. The FDA is doing more by putting more warning on the boxes like our Doctors read. Did you have a calcium test prior to Prolia? Did you have dental clearance? Did you receive Amgen's 'Dear Patient Letter' which outlines most of the side effects of Prolia and lastly, did you get your injection correctly - subcutaneously, or was the needle just jabbed in your arm? Please feel very welcome here as we are all Prolia survivors and some are still dealing with side effects while others are dealing with side effects years after stopping Prolia. Another question ~how much calcium are you taking per day as well as magnesium. Be well~Pood

Everyone~Contacted an atty for a class action suit. I need to know how many want to join before I actually talk to them in person. Please indicate below with just a 'yes' if you want to join. This is not for me. I don't have the damages. This is for those of you that are in a bad way due to this poison. If we can get enough people to make it worth his while, he will take it. Pood

Thank you for this info. No, none of these tests were done to my knowledge. Was looking at a photo of myself of 2 years ago. Have aged 10.

Judy~what are your problems. We can give you advice on some of them. I'm so very sorry you have joined our group too but we are the survivors and we will do what we can to help you through this poison -- actually, it's chemo which I guess one can label as poison as it has to kill a cancer. Most Doctors refuse to believe Prolia can be our problem. Be well~Pood

Sheri~I am so sorry that trip was so bad for you. Did you have any ear problems while you were on Prolia as they are listed as a side effect? It seems as if Prolia goes 'poof' but it's side effects linger and linger and linger way past the 11 months allowed by Amgen. Prolia had to have done something to your ears that maybe you didn't get the full side effect of and it only shows up when flying. I don't know if ear, nose and throat Docs know much about this or not. It certainly could not hurt to make an appt. with one and ask or maybe you got a little inkling from the Dr. you saw today. What do you think of that idea? Hugs~Pood

I was thinking of going to ENT but they seem better now after being home for few days. Thyroid Dr said calcium and magnesium levels fine so 2000 calcium and 400 magnesium daily is ok. I still have symptoms after 6 months done. Eczema and bone aches, etc. My sodium levels low so I just have to have salt which doesn't help with water retention that I attribute to Prolia also, never had that before all bone density meds, which causes swelling of ankles. Hate bone density poisons, TY Pood

Hi Poodle,
I certainly do. I looked on the internet to see if any cases were going on about Prolia but I didn't see any. I know it gave me cancer plus trouble with my eyes.

Feel like I have the flu . I hope this gets better. Now that I read this blog I am worried. I did study Prolia before I took it and I started to back out sever times before I took it, but went ahead with it. I assumed I had to have it . But they gave me my details and results after, My shot while I was waiting. It all said osteopenia with only one area in join by right hip for Osteoporsis. It said at extreme risk for fracture. So it had me scared not to do it. If these symptoms do not go away soon it's going to take time left from me and I am not happy. I was healthy and felt well tell this injection and it's got me down.

Judy. This is sad to hear. As you can read in my previous posts my dad started feeling bad within a couple of days of the shot. Couldn't walk, started stumbling, fell, ended up in the hospital and they tried to tell me he had "what was going around" , "the flu". I pulled the hospital bed sheet back and uncovered his hand which was starting to swell. Ended up to be a nasty cellulitis and the pain was about more than I could handle seeing him in. That was just the start of his downfall. Please share all side effects with us here. And please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I can't wait for the day this drug is taken off the market so it won't ruin anyone else.

Judy~this reads as if you really have osteopenia as only one place shows otherwise. Did you use any of the previous bone building meds on the market like Reclast, Boniva, or the pills? Prolia is supposed to be the LAST DITCH EFFORT to save our bones when everything else has failed. It seems from your post you just got Prolia and that's it??? Prolia only works if one takes it for 10 years with no holidays. So, it seems to me you are going thru He double toothpicks for zero reason. If this is the case, you and your Dr. need to have a chat and you, my new friend, have to learn to stick up for yourself with the God Almighty stupid Doctors we have now. We are going back to them complaining. They, of course, don't want to believe it's Prolia but just print out a list of the side effects from Amgen's website. You have to find Prolia in all the meds they make and click on it and it will then give you the known side effects. This piece of paper you shove under your Dr's nose with what you have underlined in it. First off, Prolia deletes a lot of our immune system so that's the reason for all the infections and while it's deleting it goes into our immunoglobulins of which we have 5 and makes a total mess of our bodies. Those are like the building blocks for our immune system. When the immune system is tampered with by Prolia all kinds of nasty things happen to us. I'm so very sorry you went against your better judgment and had the injection. Now is the time to demand help from whomever gave you the injection or maybe you will have to go to specialists to help get your body straightened out a little. Depending on what you have, many people use Pred to get rid of a lot of the problems, especially the skin problems. If you have the acute insomnia, you will need to get in with a Psychiatrist as they are the only ones that can write Rx's for what you need to sleep well. I was in the care of a GP, Cardiologist, Psychiatrist and Rheumatologist. It does end but it steals time from your life and life is such a precious commodity. Also, any and all bone built up during the current 6 months will immediately reverse itself. Be well~Pood

Rosie~we have one that wants to join the class action lawsuit against Prolia. Anyone else interested here? They are not as picky as some others that require ONJ and broken femur. They sue huge corporations over everything and they win. Sher just said she wished but I don't see her name here. I have to call them back with a head count. It's not gonna cost you a cent. If we lose, we lose but with our evidence there is no way we can lose!! Do you want them to go against Amgen for you?? Even if you don't get a cent, would you just like to see Amgen in Court with all their dam side effects???? What's the matter with you people? C. Louise, it also includes those that lost family to Prolia. Do you want in???

Hi Pood, can you find the link/post I posted on the number of prolia deaths reported since the drug came out? I remember it was a graph and I thought it was on the fda website but I can't find it there now. That site is so confusing. I posted it here but I don't seem to have emailed it to myself.

I saw my doc, all tests were normal except some low blood counts. He said calcitonin is no longer recommended by the fda and showed me an article on that. I didn't copy the url but it said benefits weren't enough for the risks which was increased cancer risk. I just wonder if anyone is still using it? He isn't going to treat me I don't now I think due to me not wanting to take the other meds and referred me to an endo who specializes in osteoporosis. It is still not clear what is going on with my pth issues so I can't take forteo. Athough he now thinks it's ok because my pth level came down, however I don't because calcium went higher and the apps I use said it is probably not from low vitamin D. He said my risk is 7% for hip fracture etc. I'm going to ask my endo to do some more testing that this doc agreed: prolactin and cortisol. Who knows if he will do it though. I want to find out if I have a pt tumor before deciding anything. But it looks like my choices are very limited now if calcitonin is really no longer prescribed.

Poodle! I wish I could talk to you. I've been told to not even mention Prolia by a member of my family. Not a good situation. I don't dare share those reasons on here at this point.

I would consider joining a lawsuit against Amgen for all the pain & suffering I have been through this last 8 months, 1 week, & 2 days. The only thing that has eased up a bit is hair loss & swollen ankles & feet, but not all of the way yet. If there is a yet! The horrible pains & skin conditions are still going strong. Wonder what happened to the 6 months deal...............

Sher~why don't you join the one I just got. I'm going to have to answer their phone calls very soon. So far, I have two whole people on this Forum. I apparently lied to them and told them we have a Forum full of ladies damaged by Prolia. Do you want to join a class action suit? You mentioned it and I found a great pair of attorneys that will take us.
