Prolia Side Effects (Page 56)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
I would call it criminal, not unfair.
I wonder if the FDA knows about the bone marrow and Prolia. Think I'll call them and tell them. One more reason to get this poison off the market. It certainly is not in any of their information or information from Amgen. Pood
Poodle, Sorry I meant the DEXA scan = the BMD test (bone Mineral density test) not bone mellow test. My mistake. Take an osteogorosis x ray test may be able to identify any Formoral fractures if you have abnormal pains with your leg and groin.
Poodle, my goodness, your doctor ruled it is fractured -OMG. I will talk to the doctor about filing a complaint and ONJ when I see him tomorrow. My mouth look ok and I was told that my blood works are normal.
Am I am not getting high level of vitamins D that leads to this leg fracture because of Prolia?
NO Canadian~It is just because you are on Prolia. Prolia does this for unknown reasons but it has zero to do with getting the correct supplements. Some of the others did too if one stayed on them long enough. It is NEVER supposed to happen with only one injection of Prolia but so much for their NEVER because you have it with only one.
Get well~Pood
Canadian~you didn't mean bone marrow but I sure found a 'can of worms' with Prolia and blood marrow. It has got to be the reason that the thigh bone breaks. Thank you for making the mistake as we are all now more aware than before. Remember: Knowledge is Power! Glad your mouth looks okay. We'll find out why it's hurting then and it may be like mine -- a certain muscle in there and it goes down my neck too.
Hugs~Pood
Sheri-People on this site helped me when I was dealing with Prolia. It is only right and just that I pass along what I learned from all of them and my own experience. A couple of you are like my cubs and I'm a Mama Bear. If you know anything about bears, you will know there is nothing in the world as dangerous as getting in between a Mama Bear and her cubs. Be well~
Canadian~While you are at your Drs' office, ask them to write down the email address of Health Canada for you so you can report your problems with Prolia. Make sure you have made notes so you don't accidentally leave anything out.
Anne~just noticed I forgot to take my Mirtazapine on Wed. night. I slept like a log so it would seem like that is one that can go when April comes and I see him again. It was still on the night stand when I woke up in the morning. I really and truly believe I need zero Valium but I'm not sure as how to quit it so I'll leave that one up to him. Be well~Pood
I like that , I hope I am one of the Cubs ??
Could it be possible that magnesium makes me muscles hurt , I thought it was suppose to help
Sheri~you sure are one of mine. Magnesium is to make the muscle cramps stop or be more tolerable. You wrote it was bothering you so we lowered it. Three things are very necessary while on Prolia. One is lots of Calcium and Vitamin D and as much magnesium as you can tolerate. Other than stopping muscle cramps, it is necessary as a bone building agent. The reason we get the miserable muscle cramps is Prolia needs those 3 things and we cannot store them per se in a human body, they are in muscle tissue so that's why Prolia attacks it. Prolia is very hungry and is never satisfied so it will rob your body until you die if you don't keep things in it in line. Have you been to your Doc to have your calcium and magnesium checked lately? Probably would be a good idea and hopefully, you come in just a little bit high. Hang in there. You will get through this poison. If you live in a larger city, you may want to try acupuncture. It's quite amazing something so ancient really works and so does a very good hypnotherapist but about as scarce as hen's teeth in the US. If you find someone offering it by phone, say no thanks. Be well~Pood
TY Pood, I will keep doing the calcium and magnesium , if I do 250 of magnesium once a day, I am good, when I try to do twice a day that's when I have discomfort . Si for now as long as I get some it is better than nothing, Again TY for being there
Some side effects went away - I puffed up like a cloud- and turned yellow - that's cleared about a year out. I began to suffer from a very severe bursitis in hip, which is recurring after taking the first shot a year ago. I was so sick I would not take a second shot. I still have occasional burning pains in upper arms which were very severe in thighs as well. Thighs are ok now.. And some sores started on my back end which have never cleared up and I've tried everything. I was ravenously hungry and gained 20 pounds. I have lost 12 of those at this time, and hunger back to normal. Also a prickly patch started on my neck, which turned into such severe neck pain I could hardly stand it. This lessened but never went away. I have now had a radio frequency ablation to stop the nerve pain. I will not be taking another Prolia shot although my doctor swears this was not caused by Prolia. However there seems to be a common thread of pain issues, etc., in some of us who have taken this drug, the symptoms I mentioned were not there before Prolia.
What do you think about taking water pills to get rid of the bloating?
Sheri~please divide your supplements out evenly. You can do it two times a day or 3 times a day. Just depends on your appetite and if you are able to tolerate much food. If food is not tolerated well you can always take them with a glass of milk or buy the kind that don't need food and you can crunch on during the day. Doing it all at once means your body is not getting what you put in it. It can only handle x amount of a supplement at a time. Does this help you? Hugs Pood a/k/a
Hi Pood, I do not tolerate food very well because of the bad indigestion that had gotten worse with the pills and then the shots. I take my calcium 3 times a day, magnesium once a day, diuretic twice a day and one multi vitamin. I feel that I fill up with water since all this started almost 2 years ago. Again, I
hope you are doing good and thank you for being there for me. Sheri
Sheri~do you know for 100% sure that bloating is excess water? If you are writing about swollen feet, ankles, legs - that's edema from Prolia. Only 'cure' is to keep them elevated until they come back to normal. If you want to add a 'water' pill to the mix, I would certainly ask my Doc first. It is used for hypertension. Losing water in large amounts will show up in your blood pressure, that I promise, and it could go too low if your Doc doesn't know what you are doing. Do things safely. Hugs~Pood
