Updated

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Canadian~ask your Dr. to test your calcium level. It takes 2 minutes or less. Then you will know for sure if you need to up it which I highly suspect. Maybe he could send a home health care nurse for you so you won't be on your broken leg. And, keep asking to have it checked monthly. Be well~

Here it is now Anne, post number 1066. When I was in the hospital getting the new hip they had cut down on sleep meds so I stayed cut down. Psychiatrist is hoping or thinking it will be gone after the one year mark. I have an appt. in April so we'll see what he has to say then. I seem to be doing fine with 1/2 of the original amount. If he starts taking me off of them and I don't sleep, he will immediately put them back on. Be well~Pood

Yes, I still take some magnesium as bones need it to build too. I do not take 500 mg every night. I take it about 3 times/week. Be well~Pood

Sheri~You have my numbers wrong. I took 1200mg of calcium 4 times a day and 1000IU of Vitamin D at the same time. The magnesium oxide I took was only 500 mg. I don't know if it made me feel better per se, but it was sufficient so that Prolia could not attack my muscles and give me horrid pains or twitches. Prolia found other ways to torture me with the Celiac Disease, a cataract, edema, irregular heart, horrid insomnia and many other things. I went from 165 lbs down to 100 and now it is very, very difficult to get my body back in the mode to put on some weight. It's almost like it is stuck. Remember: That which does't kill us makes us stronger and I am stronger and smarter than before and I know when to say NO to any Dr. Pood

Sheri~could be a little much for you. Drop it down to 350mg/day and you should be fine. Actually, magnesium is good for the kidneys as it keeps them from getting stones. Be well~Pood

I would recommend everyone who suffered from the side effects of Prolia not only taken the bone mellow test, but also take a x-ray of the lumber spine and the legs since Prolia could cause atypical femoral fractures.

Canadian only had one injection. That's what is so horrid with the situation with her. She is originally from China so please read her English -- you can if you try. I don't understand why she is upset about bone marrow tho. It can only escape when there is a break in the bone and it causes lots and lots of inflammation. I don't believe the marrow has anything to do with causing a break. Maybe in some strange logical way Prolia attacks bone marrow which can then lead to bone breakage but if that were true other bones than the thigh would break like smaller bones, wrist, neck, etc. I'm confused to say the least. I know for sure she has been to Hell and back with this poison called Prolia. Pood

Reading about Canadian and found: Yellow bone marrow produce fat, cartilage and bone. We have 3 colors of it. She is ever so correct. Pood

Again, it is so unfair that we have to suffer because drugs are pushed on us, and the Doctors just sit back and say it is not from this, Pood you are such a big help to all of us, thank you

I would call it criminal, not unfair.

Sheri-People on this site helped me when I was dealing with Prolia. It is only right and just that I pass along what I learned from all of them and my own experience. A couple of you are like my cubs and I'm a Mama Bear. If you know anything about bears, you will know there is nothing in the world as dangerous as getting in between a Mama Bear and her cubs. Be well~

Sheri~you sure are one of mine. Magnesium is to make the muscle cramps stop or be more tolerable. You wrote it was bothering you so we lowered it. Three things are very necessary while on Prolia. One is lots of Calcium and Vitamin D and as much magnesium as you can tolerate. Other than stopping muscle cramps, it is necessary as a bone building agent. The reason we get the miserable muscle cramps is Prolia needs those 3 things and we cannot store them per se in a human body, they are in muscle tissue so that's why Prolia attacks it. Prolia is very hungry and is never satisfied so it will rob your body until you die if you don't keep things in it in line. Have you been to your Doc to have your calcium and magnesium checked lately? Probably would be a good idea and hopefully, you come in just a little bit high. Hang in there. You will get through this poison. If you live in a larger city, you may want to try acupuncture. It's quite amazing something so ancient really works and so does a very good hypnotherapist but about as scarce as hen's teeth in the US. If you find someone offering it by phone, say no thanks. Be well~Pood
