Prolia Side Effects (Page 115)

I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
Anyone experienced not taking enough level of calcium, vitamin or magnesium a day. What was your feeling? Any muscle cramp or numbness due to this?
My experienced was if I took enough or more than 1200 calcium, no magnesium, and 2000IU a day. Look like I feel muscle cramps also. If I drop a bit, I felt a bit comfortable for a day, and then look like leg and muscle cramps again a day after. This terrible experience came and out, this made me very fluctuated all the time. Last week, I was diagnosised with acid reflux by the doctor due to tightness chest, after I took the Zantac (fo heartburn and upset stomach) it did help a little bit but not all, finally I took only 1 tablet without the zantac for relaxing the muscle inside, then I felt a better next day. I am thinking was the calcium and the vitamins causing the stomach reflux and muscle cramps? Anyone knows please?
Janie! Thanks! Did you take any vitamin or mineral supplements?? I am so glad you feel much better!!! I wish I could be writting the same about my mom! Ive read what Canadian sent me and took my mom to tskesome blood tests for vitamins and minerals like magnesium. It is my believe that if prolia can deplenish the body out of calcium (a mineral that plays an important role in many things as well as bones) then it could be posdible thatit could also deplenish the body out of magnesium (a twin of the calcium, another mineral important for bones)! And thesame with otherminerals and vitamins.maybe the solution is just to balance the body to its original stsge since prolia and other meds just do a mess with our bodies. We tried Epsom salt footbath for aching feet (it worked to ease the pain). We want thetingling and numbness to stop and come back to normal. We want to find whats missing and causing her neuropathy. Whatexactlydid prolia do thats messing uo with her nerves. We are searching for all possible answers! Be well team! Together wewill best this thing!
Anne~apparently you are not on the necessary sleeping meds needed to combat Prolia. I worked with a Psychiatrist until he had it absolutely perfect. We cannot live without sleep. Check this out on the net if you don't believe me. We HAVE to sleep to LIVE. It's more important than even food for the human body. Go back and complain they are not working and add or delete or change something so you DO sleep. Just a load of somethings that are not working is medically incorrect. Most Docs are unaware of other drugs that cause sleep as a side effect. Those we want!
Be well~Pood
My original symptons was two different skin rashes itching stiffness in joints
basal cell carcinoma on the chest ( only one place) and a abcessed tooth
that had to be pulled by a surgeon. The tooth was perfectly good and all of
a sudden it abcessed. It took 7 weeks to heal and that was because of Prolia.
Excema on my legs and rash on arms. I have still got those on my legs
and arms, but I am getting better every day. Also I believe I developed acid reflux while on that stinking stuff, because now I take medicine for that. I believe that is all my symptoms one more Arthritis in my thumbs which have gotten better.
does anyone suffer from insomnia? I never had it until I had the prolia inj. Now on heavy sleeping meds and the insomnia is no better and I am on my fourth month after the inj.
One thing I took just came to my mind last night. My Psychiatrist has me on Tizanadine which is fantastic for sleep BUT it also relaxes muscles. People with MS or MD take it. I have to take it in bed because it works in about 3 minutes -- as sound asleep. I was also allowed two tablets during the day so this was most definitely my magic bullet against some of the Prolia problems. I don't know if a regular Doc would Rx this or not. Please get in with a good Psychiatrist to get rid of the muscle pain and everything else it causes. They have an array of drugs that regular Docs would never use and they work against Prolia too. My feet were maybe only one week in duration. All I got from my Family Doc was: That must hurt. Ya suppose????? End of subject. New paragraph. One is only allowed x amount of this drug per day but you don't even need that much. One little pill lasts 4-6 hours. I'm allowed 8/day which I don't take. He is also the only one that warned me about Prolia. He said: "Be very careful. Your immune system is not working well now at all." These Doctors are very highly educated, much, much, much more than a regular MD. No one else even mentioned it to me. Something for all to consider. Stop going to regular Docs and go to the Specialists. This may help the bladder muscle problem too. Pood
I haven't posted for a while. It has been 10 months since my last prolia shot.
I am currently tapering off of prednisone again. This is my fourth attempt. I really hope be Prolia is reduced enough that the symptoms don't come back. The past year has been miserable. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Happy holidays everyone
Janie! Gives is cheers and makes me happy to hear you got better!!! Which were your symptoms?
Cheer up. There is light at the end of the tunner. I am getting better except for
the rash on my arms & legs and it has improved. I cannot believe what all of us have been through and I think that the Amogen company should take it all off the market. I am one to tell you that I have been through it with this medicine and I told my family physician that it is not going to happen My calcium level is already high and I have just now got it back down to normal. My other levels of potassium and all are good so I have come a ways to improve if I just get rid of the rash.
As for skin conditions, I did not mention fungus. Yes, we had one lady on Prolia that grew a fungus all over in her mouth. Her dentist Rx'd a special mouthwash. With Prolia one can never be sure of the cause except for the fact it is from Prolia. Also just read a lengthy medical article on cramps, tingling, etc. It is definitely a lack of calcium, potassium, sodium and/or magnesium and can be made worse by dehydration. Perhaps that is why mine were of such short duration. Please be careful on increasing any of these as it could be worse than the original problem. You may want to just slowly start increasing. I'm probably the world's worst for sodium as I hate salt but I'm going to eat some anyway. Sorry I forgot skin fungus. You may want to check that out too. Just more info I found today. Not allowed to do much so I read medical papers and articles trying to find a way out of the Prolia maze. Just know there is an end to this torture in the not too distant future. Be well~Pood
DM - I am using Lorna vanderhaeghe mag bisglycinate form 200 mg veg. Capsules for my muscle cramps inside my body. 1 capsules a day just when I needed. Look like This form works for me. Check the web for details.
Joyce B - yes the Prolia causes this type of muscle cramps was so horrible, making you feel like you are going to die at night. It's a nightmare and life threaten poison drug.
Poodle - nice to know you are 100% well and this give us energy to deal with our problem. thank you for all of your info from the web again. Thank you for your warning. Yes, this is the other skin problem that I am going to deal with. I look at some of the picture, I found some pictures look like the one that I am having in my body and face early stage. I am really getting into trouble with this Prolia.... I am getting tired of seeking doctors' help sometimes.
Best wishes for everyone!
Terrible muscle aches , cramps and pain ! I lost a year of my life to Prolia , omg ! My mouth hurt , my body hurt so bad I did not want to move . I will just deal with the chance of broken bones , never again !
Thanks Canadian! The video and infonis very interesting. I will get my mon doing that test. Keep me updated about your health. Did tinling and numbness in feet get better with magnesium?
Victoria ~ I believe the diagnosis is correct but I do not believe 'you just have to live with it'. That's cruel and uncaring IMHO. I would go for acupuncture. They do some very amazing things by allowing the body to correct itself. They call it 'chi' which is energy. I have to admit I don't understand it but I do know it works, especially if you are in CA or a large city. I would definitely be willing to travel with your problem to find a very qualified one. Some are in it just for the $$$ and others really do help and have studied in the Orient. Call first and ask if s/he has ever worked with xxx first. I promise it does not hurt. The needles are so very thin they just slip thru the cells in our skin. Also, they do not use the needles where the problem is. They have a totally different system. Maybe a very ancient science can beat this new biologic poison. Be well~Pood
DM - pls read this article re mag. info. I am not sure this info is reliable or not? Aren't you living in Canada? I had an ECG test it showed abnormal, but the doctor didn't do the echocardiogram for me as he believed my last report dated Sept was ok. He knows I had the side effects by the ProIia. But he believed that I had the reflux symptoms. Why am I still feeling the tightness chest?

Hi Joyce. Which were your symptoms? What did magnesium oxide help you with? Songlad you are back to yourself!
There are different types of magnesium . My Doctor had me take magnesium oxide . Not sure why that type ? Been two years since my second Prolia injection and finally back to myself . Good luck with mom .
Hi Canadian!! My mom
Started feeling numbness and tingling just 2 or 3 weeks after prolia inyection and ever since that day she hasnt got any better. She took calcium, didnt help. She did not have muscle cramps in abdomen or anywere else. I willtske a look at this magnesium tip. Hope it could help. She has been feeling and aching burning sensation on her feet since her numbness has Increased. I want and feel I have to research Nd find solutions and cases like hers that have improved and know what to expect,
What to do... Hope you all feel better. Today was a horrible day for my mom. Hope tomorrow a better one comes. Night night!
RM -- we do not want 'perfect' calcium in our blood. It needs to be a little on the high side, not dangerously high but not normal either. My MD said two 600 mg calcium tablets per day. Obviously, he does not know what he is talking about. I am happy to report that as of yesterday the autoimmune disease Prolia caused is GONE. Yes, I ate a great big roast beef sandwich with zero problem so I asked my brother to buy me regular food at the store and I'm still doing well. I'm glad you found something for the feet. That is truly a blessing. Your Mother must be more allergic than most of us to Prolia or she would be getting well now. She obviously needs the extra 5 months to get the poison out of her. A message here for Canadian -- go to your internet browser you use, be it Google, Yahoo or whatever and key in: 'photos of basal cell carcinoma'. Then you will know what you need to look for. You may also want to add next: 'photos of Prolia rash with blisters' and then another for 'Prolia rash without blisters'. That way you will know exactly what you need to know. We cannot see you. We can only read what you write. You have to know how to use your pc well when you are on Prolia. You have to be able to see if what is going on with your skin matches any of the photos and you will then know the answers. To Ann or Anne, yes, we know what you are going through. Have you gone back to your MD or others for pain medications, etc.? Those type of drugs are very necessary while on Prolia. We are not taking them for extended periods of time so there should be little chance of addiction I was advised. We are not druggies, taking the medications the way they should not be taken. Hoping this one finds everyone doing better. btw, my surgeon is very happy with his work and my progress. I don't have to see him again for 3 months. Thank you for the well wishes. Be well all~
Hi DM - your mother besides has tingling and numbness in her feet, didn't she feel some muscle tightness and sprams inside her upper abdomiinal muscle. Was the super numbness happened right after taking calcium? If yes, she may need to take some extra magnesium supplement to relax her muscle. I just found out this solution today and look like it works for me temporary now.
Since this week, I had been experiencing very severce muscle cramp inside my body at night or day time, and especially right after I had the calcium and vitamin D intake. So I ate a magnesium bisglycinate capsule (fastest absorption) to relax the muscle. It was funny that My magnesium blood did not show deficient but I got this severce cramps.
Poodle - I really don't know what will happen to me.
