I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Poodle. I did call the dentist office, The receptionist said they can do TNJ (I hope I remembered it correctly). Anyway, she booked me for next week appointment, then I will ask the dentist to have the ONJ test for me. Yes, I would prefer to have a lace up cast for my leg instead of anything else if possible. I showed the x-ray to a TMC doctor, he didn't see any big problem in the x ray. But I did see a very tiny horizontal line in the region. But he said it was not. I hope he was right.

Canadian~Ask him if you can have a lace up cast on the leg with the broken femur from ankle to top of thigh. It should keep it stable enough to heal on it's own; otherwise, they go in with a cut and put in a metal plate and screw the plate to your bones so they are straight and even. After it heals, I believe they remove the screws. Do insist on TITANIUM. It is one metal our bodies do not reject. I had a regular metal screw, about 6-7 inches long right below the kneecap. It started to come out so I had to go back to Denver. Surgeons are used to their patients GONE but he didn't want to wait for any of that so he just slit the skin and took a screw driver and removed that screw from my bone. I thought I was going to die but did make it to the parking lot where I passed out. Husband was there and caught me and got me in the car. Don't trust them while you are wide awake. Have you gone to your Dentist yet. If not, call now.

The Prolia injection was done on 9/25/2015 into my right abdomen. Since then I started to fight with the side effects. The latest one is the right leg tight bone fracture. I still hoping this is the mistake of the x-ray scan. Just one shot caused me so much! I don't want to have a surgery on my leg. It is unfair for a healthy person and a huge mistake to be taking this poison drag.

Again, it is so unfair that we have to suffer because drugs are pushed on us, and the Doctors just sit back and say it is not from this, Pood you are such a big help to all of us, thank you

Poodle, thank you very much for your kindness/help. The x Ray was based on clinical indication: Osteoporosis, query fracture mid shaft femur. The results came back: The bones are diffusely osteopenic. 1. Thoracolumbar spine: there is a mild disc space narrowing throughout the thoracic and lumbar spine. There is mild anterior height loss of the mid thoracic vertebra (possible T6). No definite wedge compression fractures notes. 2. Pelvis: Right femur - there is cortical thickening of the mid diaphysis of the right femur. This is noted within the lateral cortex and a lucency within this region. This is consistent with an atypical femoral fracture. Left femur - also has a thickening lateral cortex but no evidence of a fracture. So I need to take a CT scan for my legs again, and HR PQCT for bone strength arm/leg. And then bone density scan for hip and spine with forearm scan. My bone scan on Aug2015 showed: lumber spine -2.83; femoral neck -0.93; total hip -0.27; greater trochanter -0.83. Impression was osteoporosis with MODERATE fracture risk. Just took Atonel and Forsmax only for approx 1 year (about 4 years ago). And then a doctor prescribed me I should take Prolia based on the August 2015 bone scan report. Then I am suffering since then. Now I may have to do surgery on my leg. Poodle's research was quite right because the endo. said he has to look at the ct scan and decided what to do with it. He said it is from Prolia.

Skitty~yes, Canadian has the broken femur due to Prolia. She was mentioning for those on Prolia to have their bone marrow in their thigh bone checked as apparently that is what causes Prolia to break the thigh bone. I checked on the net and bone marrow does help grow bone so obviously Prolia is in it and caused it to break. I then checked on how do we get checks of this and it seems to be worse than the problem - make a surgical slit, insert needle, sew it back up and it can take a long time to heal as the 'skin' around the bone has been broken by the needle and it causes lots of pain for a long time. It would be worth it to gather stem cells but not just to check on something IMHO. This poor little lady has had everything Prolia has to offer in the way of side effects. I have helped her and guided her as best as I can because I don't know the Canadian health system very well. I have to send a friend an email and ask him and then relay the message back to here. Wish we could get more people from Canada on this place as that would be a huge help. We know they are there. They just have not found us yet and we know they are there as Prolia was released in Canada at the same time the FDA approved it in 2011.

What do you mean yellow bone marrow? So prolia affects bone marrow production too? It sounds like another reason out of the many reasons not to take it.

Reading about Canadian and found: Yellow bone marrow produce fat, cartilage and bone. We have 3 colors of it. She is ever so correct. Pood

Canadian only had one injection. That's what is so horrid with the situation with her. She is originally from China so please read her English -- you can if you try. I don't understand why she is upset about bone marrow tho. It can only escape when there is a break in the bone and it causes lots and lots of inflammation. I don't believe the marrow has anything to do with causing a break. Maybe in some strange logical way Prolia attacks bone marrow which can then lead to bone breakage but if that were true other bones than the thigh would break like smaller bones, wrist, neck, etc. I'm confused to say the least. I know for sure she has been to Hell and back with this poison called Prolia. Pood

Canadien how many shots did you take and were you on pills prior to shots?

I would recommend everyone who suffered from the side effects of Prolia not only taken the bone mellow test, but also take a x-ray of the lumber spine and the legs since Prolia could cause atypical femoral fractures.

Canadian~I just checked your government. Prolia was released in Canada at the same time as it was in the USA (2011) and so were the amendments of the side effects that it causes. It's at Health Canada and they say to contact them if you have problems. Find Health Canada and tell them all that you are going through so we can get it off the market there too. Pood

Canadian~I just checked the FDA in the USA. Amgen, maker of Prolia, admitted to causing your fracture on 6/15/15. In that document, many more bad side effects were admitted by Amgen. I think Canada is a little more ahead in allowing new drugs than the USA but I don't know where to look. Pood

Sheri~could be a little much for you. Drop it down to 350mg/day and you should be fine. Actually, magnesium is good for the kidneys as it keeps them from getting stones. Be well~Pood

Hi all, I haven't posted since December. It seems that after a full year my symptoms have subsided. I am now free of the blisters the stiffness and pain. I don't know if anything is going on inside of me. I guess I'll know more when I have my bone density test in April. I had my last Prolia injection January 20th 2015. This horrible drug has stolen a year of my life.

Canadian~call you dentist tomorrow morning and say: I think I am getting ONJ. Can I get X-rays today? He will get you in tomorrow afternoon and look around well in there for you. It is rare but so are the broken femurs. He will find what is hurting you in your mouth and it could be like mine was -- a very unhappy muscle. I was so happy when Dr. Randy told me it was not ONJ!!! They all leave a little spare time in their days for emergencies. Be well~Pood

Sheri~You have my numbers wrong. I took 1200mg of calcium 4 times a day and 1000IU of Vitamin D at the same time. The magnesium oxide I took was only 500 mg. I don't know if it made me feel better per se, but it was sufficient so that Prolia could not attack my muscles and give me horrid pains or twitches. Prolia found other ways to torture me with the Celiac Disease, a cataract, edema, irregular heart, horrid insomnia and many other things. I went from 165 lbs down to 100 and now it is very, very difficult to get my body back in the mode to put on some weight. It's almost like it is stuck. Remember: That which does't kill us makes us stronger and I am stronger and smarter than before and I know when to say NO to any Dr. Pood
