Prolia Side Effects Duration (Page 5) (Top voted first)
UpdatedWould like to know if anyone had side effects from Prolia but they went away - and how long did it take for that to happen?
Re: Poodle (# 232)
I know someone in Chile who was prescribed this drug. Also a woman in Italy, one in France and another one in Australia who are being Prolia-poisoned. You are right Poodle. This (evidence that this drug is highly dangerous) is not stopping Amgen, nor the MD’s from selling it to more and more women around the world...
Re: Poodle (# 228)
I am taking hair skin and nails vitamins. A friend had chemo many years ago. At the clinic where she received the chemo, she was also given an IV infused with vitamins. This happened during each chemo infusion. She never lost her hair or suffered other chemo side effects. While chemo is not the same thing as Prolia, I am harboring a slim hope that the vitamins might help stave off some hair loss.

As I have written here many times, the Prolia is gone but the side effects do not go with it. They can last years past the end of taking the drug. I have some that still affect me. Prolia is able to bring out the worst in our DNA and causes things to surface that we never even knew that we had. One tiny molecule of Prolia cannot cause harm but the side effects can sometimes take years to go away and some are permanent as in DEATH. It's my opinion it is a very, very dangerous drug and should be removed from the market but if you watch TV and see all the new drug commercials they are biologics too and seem to cause a lot of the same problems Prolia does including TB and cancer. It's a very dangerous world we live in and an informed patient is a great patient so thank Goodness for MedsChat where we are allowed to tell the truth and be believed. Stay well~

There really isn't a lot of choice when it comes to drugs for osteoporosis. They are all bis's except one that is something like Evista. It balances our hormones but is NOT HRT. You can have it if you have never had a blood clot. Hope that helps your choice. Be well~Pood

I would suggest taking Bone Broth for building immune system back up I agree that this is a terrible thing to do to women and I understand some men have been placed on this drug I was on Prolia for five years I have all the symptoms that many of you have But I am working so hard to build my calcium back and I take bone broth every single day Feeling much better. .
Re: Verwon (# 1)
They do not wear off for the very simple reason that Prolia alters our immune system in a way that causes autoimmune disorders, and these are permanent. Please look into Prolia and Thyroid disorders such as Graves Disease including Thyroid Eye Disorder (TED), as well as Lupus and other conditions.
Re: Giralda (# 235)
I can't find the article. What I did was collect information on the side effects and made it into a Word document so I can print it out and take it to my doctors. I also made this into a PDF. Are we allowed attach something like that to our messages? I'm willing to share it.

Re: Genevieve (# 219)
I've had 3 UTI's in the space of 3 months. I had them before but now it seems like they are so much harder to get rid of and I'm limited on the kind of antibiotics I can take. No floxxies (Levquin, Ciprofloxin), no Macrobid.
I want to cry. More and more stuff keeps showing up. I haven't been on Prolia since last year.
Here is some information I found:
Common Side Effects of Prolia
• Pain in your back, legs, and/or arms
• Joint pain
• Weakness or tiredness in the muscles
• Acid reflux or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Symptoms of bladder or kidney infection
• Swelling in the feet, ankles, or lower legs
• Rash
• Stomach pain
Serious Side Effects of Prolia:
• Severe allergic reactions
• Low red blood cell counts
• Serious but non-life-threatening infections
• High cholesterol
• Bladder infection
• Breakdown of bone in the jaw that may be painful (osteonecrosis of the jaw)
Rare Side Effects of Prolia:
• Serious infections that require hospitalization
• Urinary tract infection that requires hospitalization
• Infection or inflammation of the pancreas
Hope this helps!
Re: Nikki (# 256)
Thanks for your research... I have 8 of those symptoms, some of which I could not understand their origin...now I know.
It has taken two years, but I now feel like I am over the effects of Prolia !!!!
In addition, my Dr. is SCHOCKED that I have not continued to lose bone.
Taking a Prolia was one of the worst decisions of my life.
Re: Nikki (# 256)
My bet is that your medicos will just pass it off anyway. None of mine are the least bit interested in even acknowledging my symptoms. In fact it's almost as if I didn't say a thing. I'm fed up with the lot of them and while Amgen Australia will admit that my symptoms can be side effects, their comment is that they are very rare. Really ?
Re: Maritere (# 254)
Well said. Prolia after my Thyroid which previously had been well stabilized for 18 years.
For two years I have suffered from an unstable thyroid, with crushing fatigue, acute body pain and stiffness, etc, etc. Now for the first time since I first took Prolia two years ago,
I am reclaiming my life.
Re: Nikki (# 267)
I don’t see the post, so here it is. I recently started a very slow, gentle program. For a very long time I was unable to exercise due to severe stiffness, pain and fatigue, then I found on PBS the perfect exercise. The title of the program is called : Forever Painless by Miranda Esmonde White. The exercise program has a couple of names : Essentrics and Classical Stretch. I immediately went to Amazon and ordered the Beginners level.
In six weeks I have seen and felt an amazing improvement in flexibility and stamina. When I first started I could only bend to the top of my thighs, now I touch the floor. I am looking forward to eventually graduating to the higher level program.
Re: Nikki (# 267)
I forgot to mention another factor that helped me, especially for my thyroid and GI issues,
I went Gluten Free. Gluten is highly inflammatory, so it makes sense that it would exacerbate an already inflamed body.
Re: Nikki (# 274)
Keep us posted.
Another excellent site is Save Our Bones, in addition to diet and exercise, there is a lot of information about Big Pharma and their marketing strategies.
Re: Lala (# 6)
Lost all of my top teeth and have spent thousands on implants. Please never take Prolia. You will regret it. So many side effects that can’t list them all.
This is the worst drug I have ever taken.
I advise against taking it
Re: BB (# 18)
Yes I have. I have asthma which has been well controlled until I had the injection. Had my first asthma attack 2 weeks post injection and having further problems. My injection was March 7, 2017.
Re: Poodle (# 20)
Please can you show me the place where you got this "fact" straight from the horse's mouth? I want to go to the doctor who put me on Prolia and show him evidence.
Re: sal (# 283)
That is so awesome, Sal. To find that solution. Gluten is bad for everybody! I try to eat as little processed foods as possible and gluten free or whole grains (at a minimum) it's so hard to take it completely out of one's diet, but there are many options available for us today!
