Prolia Side Effects Duration (Page 14) (Top voted first)
UpdatedWould like to know if anyone had side effects from Prolia but they went away - and how long did it take for that to happen?
Note: When one stops Prolia, it can cause the bones in the spine to break. I now believe such is the case with mine and the reason for such horrid pain. It is listed as a side effect from stopping Prolia. Cursed one way or another. Pood
Re: BB (# 18)
Injection two months ago and am experiencing difficulty with breathing. When I force myself to fully inhale it causes me to cough involuntarily. This tends to make me breathe shallowly most of the time. Not good!
Re: david (# 99)
I would have a pulmonary check up. My husband had similar symptoms (not on prolia). It turns out he had a diagnosis we were not expecting. I suffered for over a Year from the effects of Prolia so follow this thread.
Re: Poodle (# 13)
I don't believe anything the FDA says anymore. My wife wants to end her life after living with the Prolia shot now for 4 months. Wakes up crying. Total loss of basic physical functions here.
Re: Carla (# 86)
Same thing happened to me my 6 months is up next month and I am due for another injection but my family Dr advises me not to take it he will give me oral med instead. I've had parathyroid scan, kidney ultra sound and been x-rated from head to toe and nothing abnormal I told my Dr to start I thought it was the prolia injection, the numbness in the bottom of my feet finally stopped last week so hopefully things will continue to improve as it leaves my body.
My family Dr didn't order the injection I was going to pain clinic for back fractures but have stopped and just see my family Dr. the pain clinic ordered the prolia, its all a money pit.
Has anyone out there who has rheumatoid arthritis ever been given the Prolia shot?
I have read that it has not been tested for RA patients.
Re: Poodle (# 118)
I had 4 injections before i had the severe rash with a section of my skin on my arm sloughted off. I absolulty felt like my insides were on a medium boil all the time. I am not the same energetic 61 yr old that i was. Easily tire these days. This is such a change.
Re: Raccoon (# 120)
I heard from an attorney, legal cases are in for femur and jaw issues. As of yet, there's no litigation for what I am seeing on this site. But he says with all these complaints and those being filed with the FDA, he expects a wider case being built on these issues.
Re: Poodle (# 118)
Poodle your saying that it's no longer the Prolia but the damage it did to my immune system ,(which is already zapping my thyroid). So with strict adherence to an anti inflammatory diet will my immune system return to normal?(or at least what it was before, years down the road.) Will I ever be free of this come and go rash and extreme sensitivity to the environment? Thanks Poodle for your feedback
Re: Morgan (# 117)
Thank you! I'll look into it. I have to watch being in the sun, even with sunscreen. If the length of time isn't too bad I might be able to do it.
Re: Poodle (# 124)
Thanks Poodle i will get on it. As it seems the problems are getting worse.
December 2017, will mark 6 months since having my 1 and only Prolia injection with no known side effects. What are the chances of 1 injection staying in my system forever? When will it be safe for me to have oral surgery?
Re: Raccoon (# 120)
Poodle and everyone else,
An update to let y'all know how things stand to date: September 7, 2017 was my last Prolia shot but I continue to experience numerous infections and eczema which is still there though not quite as bad. Not sure on the high cholesterol issue but I did show my Primary Care doctor a print out from the Prolia site and he refrained from the cholesterol med. at least for now.
I'm praying the numbers go down to normal. I don't want to get on any of that stuff.
The chronic fatigue is worse than what it was and that wasn't too good to begin with.
As many of you have stated, it takes quite awhile before you start feeling better again. I'm believing it will be the same for me. The next time I go to my doctor I'll ask him about seeing an immunologist.
Hugs and prayers for restored health to all!
Yes, I would like to know the answer to that question!
Re: Ann (# 143)
If you stopped the Prolia, you do get back fractures. That is even in their literature. I sure got them. Be well~Pood
Re: Nikki (# 149)
You will be the second one here if you do have rotator cuff tear. The other lady's is pretty much inoperable because it involves two tendons. Maybe she can do stem cell therapy to heal them. And, it had to be in a very bad spot and involved her heart too. YIKES!! Pood
Re: Poodle (# 157)
I was not at risk for fractures in the spine when I started prolia, I had a risk in left hip -1.5, am I at risk for fractures in the spine if I stop
Re: Vickie (# 159)
That is correct. Fractures happen when quitting Prolia. Pood
Re: CAB (# 138)
I know the one in Asheville, NC is very good and not that far. Be well~
Re: Shirley (# 163)
I have not been put on prednisone, I will refuse it if offered, why take something that is bad for your bones when you are trying to do the opposite
